Nothing particulay original, just a Uni excercise where we had to animate a Mouse Trap gag. Took about a day and a half to do, with mainly frame-by-frame animation, made up as I went along. Golden era insprired.

Gah....

I didn't know that you had made more submissions to Newgrounds since Over Under, Gaga. I have a little reviewing to do now.....

Anyway, great animation as usual, though there really didn't seem to be much point to this flash, and it really was way too short to get into. I really liked the old-time music that went with the animation, though. Music like that seems somewhat out of place in a color flash, but it fits quite well in spite of that.

Keep up the good work, Gaga. I wish you had announced that you had made these submissions over at the boards of your site (or I might have not been paying attention, which is a very real possibility).

I have to say I love the character design, it's so simple yet absouletly adorable. The abckground is a little bit on the drab size on my taste, and tends to blend in a little to well with the character. Whom, once again, was very cute in design - simple shapes made well. The mousetrap was also fairly nice looking and the motions that it had with the mouse itself were all nicely done. Good background music - I really liked how it tended to make it have a much more jazzy beat.

Nice to see that some people who visit this site can take the time to write up constructive reviews. Thanks.

[Graphics]: The mouse was well drawn and nicely animated.
On the trap you could have added a little more detail, like rust or more shadowing. Overall the graphics reminded me of some old fashion cartoon. Your use of colors as to the preloaded and background were well fitted also.

[Style]: The style graphic wise was decent and it could be compared, as I said earlier, to a classic cartoon, nothing seriously professional and mouth dropping, just some regular animation and art that is nice to like at. If this was supposed to be funny, your style of humor could be considered sort of a slap stick comedy( Were the character gets hit around, bit, beaten, or in this case caught in a trap with out getting killed or injured).

[Sound]: Yet again, the music could be compared to an old-cartoon, say around late '50s or early '60s. It made it feel sort of like a Tom and Jerry cartoon. The music was definitely a plus for this movie, which I thought gave it more entertainment and classical value.

[Interactivity]: It has a play loader that has a color scheme similar to that of the background of the movie, which is nice.
The play button; however is something I see everyday.
Something more original like a piece of cheese and when it’s fully loaded there is this little bite taken from it.

[Humor]: I didn't find it funny, but yet more enjoyable because of its old fashioned like sense of humor.

[Violence] It had cartoon like violence, nothing bloody or gory like.

Over it was short and sweet and a nice addition to the portal.

GagaMan responds:

Thanks for the very constructive review there. The music is in fact a Jazz piece from the 50's called Ain't Misbehavin' by none other than Louis Armstrong, which is now in the public domain. I may consider that idea for the play button.

so-so

I enjoyed the 60's cartoon esque in this movie, pat yourself on the back you did good

the only thing i didn't like was it's length, mabye you should make your next one a bit longer

short

The animation and the style reminded me of disney. The story was nothing, but the sound fit it perfectly..Make them longer and with a bigger purpose. Good none the less

GagaMan responds:

Read the descript, it didn't have a very big purpose to start with.
