An Old Man, lost in a boat, trying to find his way home. Made in a week as a test for creating realistic water in Flash.

very impresive

i know its only a test for water in flash but in appearences it is one of the most impressive pieces of work i have ever seen.

its content isn't anything to write home about but thats not why anyone would watch this flash.

that is a brilliant song. ive always loved it and have been trying to play it on my tin whistle all week

rests in your mind

++ The water at the start does look fantastic. Is it made up using photos?

- Some vectors aren't so great. I thought the hands looked kinda flat and didn't like the way the bottle looks in the water all that much.

+++ Beautiful music. Evocative.

++ Some nice colours.

----- I felt the ending was really unsatisfying.

It is a haunting piece. Having read your author's comments, I do start to wonder about the little character. Questions flitter about.

Maybe one of those movies that rests in your mind and grows into something more than it was on-screen. A simple feeling evoked grows into a fuller story.

PapaQ responds:

Yeah, the water's made up using 2 wave images at a low alpha, moving against eachother over a sea gradient background.
Let it grow...
