This is an action cartoon/music video about a couple of giant robots and some seriously hardcore gamers. I started this a long time ago, but only got round to finishing it recently, so it gets better towards the end.

Oh, and before anyone else asks, the song is 'Haruka Kanata' by Asian Kung-Fu Generation.

If you enjoy this, why not visit my website? Not that there's much else like this on there... but come and have a look anyway. :P

Very very nice

You totally deserve this daily feature dude, I see you put alot of efford into this. The animation was just very smooth, I liked the camara work very much and the smooth character fighting was just phenomenal, it was like a real movie. So how long did it take for you to make this sweet piece of art and what did you use? I mean the rotation of characters was in full detail and that is wayy above my lvl =)

and ps, nightstrike was good, but this is just 10 times better since it has alot of detail and alot of high quality animation :)

StephenRedmond responds:

Hey, thanks a lot. It's hard to say how long it took... I started in the summer of 2004, but then I started university in the september and I hardly did anything on it for a year, and I've been doing a little at a time since late 2005... I'd guess it was about two or three months effective working time. I started in Flash 5, and finished in Flash MX, and the whole thing was drawn with a mouse.

I guess this wasn't better than NightStrike after all, since they got front page and I didn't. :P

A breath of fresh air...

Let me begin by welcoming you to Newgrounds. This animation is honestly a breath of fresh air for this website. It's been a while since something new with such fluid animation has popped up. Keep this up, and you'll be on par with "Rockman NEO", "Bitey of Brackenwood", or the now defunct "Genryu's Blade". I loved this animation, I've watched it at least 10 times today. The sky fight is my favorite scene and is the part that made me say "Holy sh*t, this is f*cking awesome." Please, please, please make more. You've got the potential to rock this website.

P.S. Don't listen to people bitching about the music. I for one LOVE Japanese Rock, and I think it fit well with the animation. To me it seemed that you were going for an Anime feel anyway. In the future maybe throw some Guitar Wolf in one, give the haters a taste of some Japanese Punk/Psychobilly.

StephenRedmond responds:

Hey, thanks very much. Those are pretty high standards to aspire to, but if you're gonna do something, do it right, right? :P

People seem to be pretty split down the middle about the music, I'll probably try find something more people can agree on for the next one. I don't actually know much Japanese music outside of anime openings and endings. I haven't heard of Guitar Wolf, but I'll look out for them, thanks.

Totally awesome!

I bet that took alot of art work and creativity out of you. Best fight animation in newgrounds ever!
