Scorched Earth: The mother of all games... and now, the mother of a brand new Flash movie! Wendell Hicken's classic projectile tank game comes to life (again) in movie form, featuring more surprises than you can shake a funky bomb at, in an epic battle that rages across the Earth AND BEYOND.

(And if you don't like this movie adaptation of the game, just remember that at least you didn't have to pay to see it like you did for "Doom: The Movie"! :P Eh? Eh? BOOYAH.)

It was marvellous. A little slow in the beginning, but that's within character of Scorched Earth. And about time someone simply tankjacked a vehicle in a game.

Story was very imaginative for the genre, and did a lot with simple silhouette characters and props.

The musical score was wonderfully chosen. And yes, that finale with "From a Distance" did make me tear up at the end. (If that's sappy, then stick a tap into it, and let's make pancake syrup. X-PPP)

In short, it's even greater than the sum of its parts. Bravo, Andrew and TMST!

Instant 5

just for the song and how the animation played out.

I love that game!

OMFG! Scorch is one of the greatest games of all time! I would play it for hours and hours on end as a kid and have it installed on every pc I own, including this one. I am glad to see that someone else out there enjoyed the game as much as I did. Both my friend have priceless memorys playing Scorch that we will never forget. The video was a good tribute but I would have liked to have seen more tank action, what made it entertaining was the chase, that was the only part that made me laugh. But I dont care about that as much as the fact that it was Scorch and I know that someone enjoyed the game as much as I have. Thank you for a quick visit to the past and I hope you continue to play Scorch into the future, I know I will!

TmsT responds:

I always wondered about the environments that the tanks were battling in. Supposedly they were on planet Earth (hence the title), but they were eerie colours and there was sometimes lightning... I wanted there to be buildings and plants and stuff too. ^^

Straight to my fave list

Given a choice between paying to see Doom: The Movie and paying to see this, this would win out every time :)
Couldn't stop laughing the first time I saw this. Or the second. Or the third.
Can't imagine anyway you could improve it.
