Simple...

...and simple is good. Though I almost didn't see it because I couldn't find the play button.

Nice simplistic creative flash

Devnill, I think the reason you got a low score for this nice flash was because you didn't tell where the play button was. In the beginning, all they probably saw was "Transgenesis" with the white square. A lot of flashes get passed up because there wasn't a play button or something and they had to right click and press play to see the damn thing. I thought there wasn't a button for a few seconds until I thought of pressing the square.

Yeah, and people don't like unfinished flash. Still was good, but when you look at it by itself it kind of ruins it. Cut offs suck and change people's opinions because they'll remember the ending. Kind of like the first Lord of the Rings movie or the ending for Halo 2 (ending was bad, but not game) how they didn't give any closure. Even if it is a preview, it still sucks because... it's a preview.

I think the flash was great, not many people can make good things or cool stuff from using simplistic stuff like that. Your timing was kind of off with the music and some of the shapes too, by the way. Just finish the flash and turn it in, I wanna see the full thing.

Amusing to some extent

Honestly it reminded me of some hippie-sixsty dance-film-musical of Captain Low-Rez. It was creative and it had some modern artistic value, don't know what to make of it. Somehow it was amusing and it got my imagination running hi-wire. As for suggestions... um. Longer, smoother (as in terms of more movements "wavey-like"), more colors.

Good work.

Ow, my eyes

My eyes hurt, would it be too much to ask for you to change the color of the boxes? I could be in a coma soon if i watch anymore quick flashes of light...ouch. It was creative though. Changing the white box would be very helpful for the people that can become comatose from flashes of light..not to anything bright though, darkish blue or purple, or any other darker color.

devnill responds:

I have been debating the use of color alot for this animation really heavily, and after way too much thought into the matter i decided not to use any. Although i could make it really phychodelic and trippy (and probally get a higher rating) I dont think it fits with the message i want to send. I wan't it to be harsh on the eyes at times. This is not to say i dont want it to have astetic appeal as well; i want to make people love it and hate it at the same time. I want the shapes to hold the viewers attention, while using the strong contrast to cause unease. This piece is not designed to be purely eye candy, but to evoke emotion.

Wierd and Wonderful!

Great animation! Very much 'modern art' and deep! I can't wait for the rest, it looks really good!
