Session 3: Preloaders

9/18 Update: Just fixed a bug.
It's been a long time since I did one of these, I finally switched to Flash MX. I've mega compressed it to 100+ KB for all you dial-ups. Hope you learn something.
What would you like to see next?

If you're wondering why you get this error:

Target not found: Target="undefined" Base="_level0"

It's because the loader bar could not be found. This is okay, because when you open the .swf the file will load immediately, leaving no time to control the loader bar. It will work fine when you upload it to a website.

Real Good!

This is a real nice submission but I've got a problem. When I tried to play my preloader it came up with an error message that said

Target not found: Target="undefined" Base="_level0"

Please can you help?

Excellent tutorial.

I've been wondering how to create my own preloader without having to tinker with the one Newgrounds provides.

I couldn't quite get the bar to work, but I did find that I could use any 100 frame animation instead. I made it so a few lines form into a logo, and it's pretty cool.

I'd also like to see a tutorial on platformer games. I'm thinking of (eventually) making a Paper Mario-esque game, so platforming elements would be crucial.
