Update4: Its been drawn to my attention that MyQueensknight stole the metroid tune. It is by an artist called Stemage of metroid metal (see link). SOrry i cna't change the file at this point, but here's your ccredit form me.
Update3: SOund redone for intro so it doesnt lag.
UPDATE2: Skip buttons now available after watching the movies once.
Update Thankyou for Frontpage, Tom.
A first person shooter and Metoid movie rolled into one.
ALL MUSIC FROM AUDIO PORTAL :D please support NG's audio artists.
The game is only short on EASY mode. Medium and Hard take ages!
Ridley has created an army of weak Metroids. To restore them to their former power, he needs a sample of the full DNA code of the last Metroid. Aware of this, the Galactic Federation sends Samus Aran to retrieve it from the Fulpian Research facility before Ridley can get his dirty claws on it. You must complete all difficulties to see all the bonus movies. Have fun!

Nice game

Im a big metroid prime fan myself, so i enjoyed it, too bad it was way too short. anyways, was this sponsored by games of gondor or was it for the contest? i hope it was sponsored... cause im not sure my own game im making is scoring 4+.... so that would mean i wouldnt get first prize then :P aahh well, lets go back to work.. its almost done :)

On all the modes, especially hard, the controls were a little lacking in the response area. I mean I can see having to turn the quality down which I did but even then on hard mode they were to slow. I mean I pressed the space bar like 9 times before it punched once. That is kinda rediculous. Well saying that the game wasn't to bad if you play the easy and medium modes.

The-EXP responds:

its highly recommended you play on a very good machine, otherwise it lags. the only thign i could test it on was an athlon 64 3400 so i didnt experience the lag many people are having, sorry..

The game rocks!!!

Finally beat the damn thing on hard!! My computer kept slowing down and killing me : ( (I was so pissed when I got the boss down to 2 health and that happened). The endings were also great (well, the easy ending... but it was fitting for beating it on easy.)

Graphics - I mentioned it slowing down on hard. An option for a static aimsight would help that.

Style - Definitely captured the feel of Metroid.
Sound - Good.
Violence - What it should be.

Interactivity - Only problem was that the health orbs would disappear immediately after finishing off a group of enemies. A second or two two collect them might be nice, but thats a minor inconvenience. Also liked that the Easy mode was easy and the Hard mode was hard without either being excessively so.

Humor - Liked the NG references. Fulpian Research Institute :)

Dude, this is a winner. Music from the Audio Portal was nice. Never really explored there, but after this I realized there were some nice tracks there. May have to explore that when I make a sequel to my own game.

But, back to yours. Graphics were okay, but I know they had to be simple otherwise many computers would have slowdown due to 100 metroids flying right at you. Loved the planet name and the 20X6 reference. Haha.

Dude, hard mode lived up to its name. I beat Normal on the first try, but Hard is murdering me at Ridley every time. And I thought I would have an advantage using my pen tablet! But darn you for making me want to beat it and see that A.Y.B... it better be worth it, haha.

Overall, awesome game. Keep up the good work.
