Sonic Boom

This is a spoof about a video game character put in a real world situation. It is about Guile, a character from the Street Fighter fighting games.

While gifted with the talents of acrobatics and propulsion of sonic projectiles from his arms, Guile has his limitations. The designers of Street Fighter 2 only allowed for Guile to be able to yell "Sonic Boom!" To make matters worse, he is also trapped in his army base stage from the game with a mindless audience that cheers for him and anyone else that he may encounter. However, he is unable to grasp this and seems to be more concerned with his hair-do.

The events in the animation take place sometime after the game is over. Guile has been reunited with his wife after taking part in the Street Fighter tournament. To him, all seems well. He has a wife, a group of friends devoted to him, his own rocking soundtrack, and a place to call his own. Unfortunately, his wife is unhappy and has started seeing another video game character that he hasn't seen since the tournament ended.

You win! *sound of 14,700 points*

Or whatever the hell it was for winning while taking a single pixel of damage. I know it was less than half of a perfect's value (30, 50 or 80K), but it suits this movie.

Basically, what we have here is a glorified 1-round SF movie.

However, instead of sprites, you went and apparently traced over them for your graphics. This gives it a bit of its own style, but style isn't everything.

Basically, Jane's bitching Guile out about various things, and brings in P2 as the 'other man'.

I noticed a few things during the fight you might wanna address:

P2 Guile had P1's lifebar name. Since the colors on both Guile P2 and in the background suggest being based on Champion Edition, the name colors need swapped (pressing Start ALWAYS gave the silver-colored name). Or, you could base it on Hyper Fighting and make the 'alternate' Guile blue (and since those were the defaults, the names would be right).

What happened to Guile's really, err, 'inventive' block pose? You know the one... leaned WAY back with his arms over his head.

If the time was infinite, why not say so? And why not let the spoils go to the victor (bonus tally)?

However, for a first submission, you seme to have done your research well. I also liked how easy to understand the voices were.

If you keep at it, you can only get better. Just remember, the simple actions such as standing and walking are just as important as the punches and kicks used.

I will be eagerly awaiting an update to this or your next parody, whichever comes first.

Duggfresh3 responds:

You really know your Street Fighter. I'm really impressed with what you picked up on. I overlooked more than I thought. I'll go back to it eventually, but in the near future I'll probably start another street fighter or other video game parody.

Man......That was......(LOL)!

Good ol' Street fighter

That was nicely done. Very ironic how he had a wife if the first place but ironic again when she was going to replace him with... himself... The music was kickass! But listening to Guile say "Sonicboom" over and over again got ever so annoying and watching him fight reminded me why I never really like him. But other than that it was very nicely done! Keep up the good work and maybe we can see one on Bison? Maybe a little Cammy? Come on... everyone loves Cammy!

My next idea involves Sagat. A friend of mine suggested Sagat v. Tiger Woods. Tiger! Tiger!! What?

My Review

I didn't like it, but maybe if I had ever played the game it would've made sense. I didn't watch it all.

That was funny. :D

What's with Guile saying,"Sonic Boom!" all the time. That was funny. Plus the graphics were very good when the fight started. You're an artist man! Good job. You get a 10.
