This project has been my biggest yet, taking over 6 months from start to completion. It's been a long haul, so if you're going to review, I'd really appreciate it if you spent more than 2 minutes playing the game before you offered your opinion. If you don't like the game, please tell me WHAT it was that you didn't like about it... it's the only way I can make future projects better. Thank you.

I wasn't happy with the CPU usage of the original Overrun, and many of the reviewers made good suggestions for improvement (thank you!). So I re-coded the game from the ground up, for smoother gameplay and less CPU demand. The filesize is large partly because I created hi-res bitmap backgrounds in Bryce - they use less processor power when scrolling than vectors. The 17 music loops and 40+ 3D animation loops don't help much, either, when trying to keep the filesize down.... ;D

Please be aware that I had to cut the music tracks to 15-30 second loops for filesize reasons. If you like any of the clips, please show your support for NG's Audio Artists by downloading the full songs from the Audio Portal, and reviewing/voting on their work. Links are in the Credits page of the game's helpfile. Unfortunately, NG's submit process only allows me to credit 12 out of 16 artists, so here are the other four:

Great Game, addictive and fun

I did really like it, because of its many Levels, Power-Ups and very nice Gameplay. Please make an "Overrun III" ;)

Pretty darn good

Really attractive and well-made, and pretty addictive. I've only played it on easy so far, so the strategy elements (selecting upgrades etc) didn't really have much impact, but I'm going to go back and play it again (on hard) which is praise in itself I suppose.
A shame to hear you won't be making more stuff for newgrounds.

A bloody brilliant shoot-em-up

It's hard to find anything bad about this game. The enemies were unique (and sometimes plain bizarre), being able to turn and elevate the turret sets it apart and it's even better that the enemies were in 3d and well rendered. My only quirk with this is that it gets a slight bit repetative, but I've only completed it on Easy. Good job from Denvish Designs on making this :).
