UPDATE (2005.06.19): Alpha for the next video is up.

NOTE: About the low quality of the voice acting, I'm afraid I cannot do anything about it, since all my friends are on different schedules. My next one won't have voice acting since I am not experienced in this field.

NOTE: There won't be a full version of "The Shattering Blade Affair". I am working on an all-new original project.

Originally created in Director MX in Decemeber 2003 in a time frame of 1.5 weeks of drawing, rushed photoshop coloring, and laying it out on the timeline. There was also having one of my friends composing music for me in his spare time. The original version didn't have voices, even though they are recorded. That's because of some mishaps and time constraints.

Now over a course of two weeks time, I concentrated in just porting it over to Flash without fixing the graphics, mainly because I lost most of them. I put in a "Broken Saints" style opening with an original graphic just for the Flash version, so you can see the in-movie graphics are worst then the opening graphic. The voices are added in too. Soo this is like the most complete version.

Since I am now in a process of creating another Flash video, consider this a "preview" of how my style is going to be. It will definitely be better then this.

I might have this be in the RIT anime club, but who knows. This is also posted in DeviantArt.

And since this is just a port, I am not expecting much, except some useful comments.

I hope you enjoy it.

Good luck on your next project...

Though I find it a shame that this project must end so prematurely, I wish you luck on your next project and expect, if not the same, a greater amount of promise in the next. I could tell that each image was carefully hand drawn--major pluses. I know just how long that can take.

Damn, I should check for new reviews more often. I already released another one, and thanks for the review.

abandoned? why?

this looks like it could be an awesome flash cartoon. i personally think you should hang in there on this animation, dont give up yet :D

omegafinal responds:

Back in December 2003, this was originally a Director project done for class and I decided to create one based on my series.

You can thank "Broken Saints" for giving me inspiration and making me bring this old project to Newgrounds and DeviantArt, thus sharing it to the community.

To give a more direct answer, sorry, but I do not have the heart to restart a year old project gone cold. My next project has a better story and compelling characters. Wish me luck.

Cliche

You need to work alot harder on your presntation the animation was poor at best the storie was alse for cliche and the picture animation was annoying, but on a better note I think with a bit of work and some editing your storie would be alot better from my personal experiance you need to write a draft about 4 times before you have sombody edit it searching for things "cliches" I see potential and with work you could really do somthing with this and make a good series. My email is on my profile so if you would like anymore suggestions like ways to exress surtain thoughts or emotions email me and ill send some ideas your way asap.

omegafinal responds:

Thanks for the word. Unfortantly, I've abandoned "The Shattering Blade Affair" because it was just a class project, and I have better "superhero" stories to write about.

Don't worry, I've been working on this next story for some time now, maybe a good four weeks or so.

And another unfortunate comment, I am keeping the graphic novel approach, since it feels right for me. I guess you can't satify everyone.

Not bad

I liked the style and the voice acting was... tolerable. What you can do if your friends are unavailable (or terrible voice actors) is find people online who have microphones and can send you samples of their voice work, this way you can pick which ones you like for each part.

omegafinal responds:

Next time I feel confident enough to hire voice actors again, I'll consider. Thanks for the kind word.

*eye twitch*

its ok ..... the graphics were better than anything i can do but there didnt seem a point...... it was kinda just a montage of ...... stuff either ou can draw crzy good and just cant use flash or you can draw crazy good and were just having fun

omegafinal responds:

1.5 weeks is just not kind for me. Unfortunately, that's the best I can do.

I will definitely put more effort into my next one. You see the loading screen graphic of that girl? That's my current style. Now I just gotta do something about that white outline...
