This is a new special series entitled "The Mask of Victor Graves", a short two or three part cartoon comprised of excerpts from the upcoming "The Boy in the Box", which reveals the harsh history of Victor Graves, a.ka. Dr. Shroud.

While this part still appears in "The Boy in the Box", I felt that it was self-containing and long enough to warrant a series of its own. Plus, I felt that it was too long between series, so here is a little something in the meantime.

Graphically up to par...

... and very nice emulation of the black&white movies of the 20s. Dr. Shivago anyone? The only thing that bothered me about the sound was the bad mixing - the transitions are way too abrupt, plus it doesn't make any sense switching back and forth between atmospheric, in-film sound and the piano man. Other than that, it's headed in the right direction.

This movie had the same soundtrack as the freaky ass 1920's movie "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari". I hated that movie....yours was better, but thats what the music reminded me of.

Doing good.

This is the first one I have watched, so I am not totally familiar with the series as of yet.

But from this one alone, I can definantly say the artwork was good, the silent movie feel of the pic was good, although I wish I could of turned off the music at points.

Will have to go check out the other Dr. Shroud films as well. If they are as good as this one, then this will be a pretty solid series.

it was ok...

most excellent submission...the only thing that bothered me is that the little boy never changed his suprised expression through the whole flick, it made him a real flat character.

A very good intro

I've been following your series from the start and I like the way you introduced the characters from the Dr Shroud series. I notice you've gone back to the style of the first episode (which everyone should watch to get an idea how far you've come) and I think it's for the better there weren't any voices, they were a tad "iffy" at times. I think the music was OK, but the loops were kinda annoying after a while, although to be fair, it does fit the "pre-sound era" a bit better. *shrugs*

I look forward to your next episode. I'm just wondering HTF did Shroud ever get a daughter now!
