Mud and Blood: Vietnam

This game pitch you at the commands of an infantry platoon right in the midle of the viet nam war. This concept follows a RTS pattern (real time strategy). In this game you are commanding an infantry platoon and you will have to secure an old french bunker and hold it as long as you can against waves of viet congs while taking care of your men and logistic details.

The series mud and blood is there since long. I started it long ago with a World War 1 trench simulator back in the flash 4 days. The game was outrageously complex and brutal and scared most of my testers away.

So, I came with a new design later on, mainly to test some RTS algorithms I had in the back of my mind for a while. Mud and blood Vietnam includes a lot of nifty features. Its using a sound engine who's generating footsteps according to which surface is walked on, and it pans each sounds according to the location it should be heard. Mainly if a soldier fires a weapon and he is located to the right you will hear the shot in the right speaker. On the other hand, even if you can't see VCs sometimes, and if you listen carefully, you may hear from where they try to sneak in.

Amongst the crap load of functions in this game each single soldiers is unique, with 7 characteristics, ranks, and kills and name. Also, you can use the radio (if your radio man is still alive) to call air strikes, gunship support, reinforcements and ammo.

Tested and works well under xp.

note, i had to uber compress this babe to meet NG's size limit so if you like the game get the downloadable version; way better sounds, graffics and a score board. (www.urbanprophet.com)

I'm 40. Seen much. Done much. This hooked me. NICE

I discovered this on the arcade portion of an alumni site in my hometown and loved it. As a former Marine, I don't mind saying that it came fairly naturally to ME and I got a score of 330 on my 8th or 9th try. needless to say, I had the thing running over-night to get there. I'm surprised to see all of the single and double-digit scores. This seems to indicate that most haven't discovered the full entertainment value of this amazingly simple, but intriguing process. It's possible to issue orders to your guys and go out on an errand ,eat a meal or sleep. When you return, they've cleaned up all but the last 1 or 2 hidden enemy troops. If you are patient and proceed cautiously, it's possible to out-shoot and out-maneuver the enemy to the point that your radio-man and sharpshooters remain alive and useful for hours, if not days. Some have mentioned speed. That's one of this game's greatest connections to real combat and it wouldn't be the thrill that it is with speed. All of the problems I've read about here are actual problems in real combat. Accidentally calling an arty-strike or napalm-run right down on your own guys or directing your guys into an oncoming chooper-strafe. One problem I find unforgivable though is that it's impossible to continue after receiving a second container of ammo. The screen freezes up and I'm forced to hit "surrender" or let my unarmed troops do an "Alamo" due to the problem. I've separated drop-zones, stacked them and even placed the second one far into enemy territory to avoid the problem. Other than that, I'd be able to reach 400, I'm sure. I highly recommend learning this one and challenging yourself. A very unique experience. Kudos to the creator and his advisors.

Great game

This is probably my favorite game on newgrounds or anywhere else...It would be cool if ud make a mud and blood 2. A few glitches you could fix-
1: The music never picks up in the first game
2: If you call for an airstrike or something and quit be4 it comes, and restart, then the next game if u double click on 1 of ur guys, they drop it rite on u
3: 4 sum reason the guys with the grenade launchers have unlimited ammo
Anyway, next time maybe it could be a happier concept like ur guys dont all have 2 die. In answer to the guy be4 me, you move ur guys by clicking on em then double clicking where u want em 2 go. They attack ne1 they see on the way. If u tell them 2 move 1ce, and want them 2 move again, u have 2 select them again. My record was 187 kills. I usually use a ranger or guy with high observation 2 scout out the enemies and then kill em with a sniper, grenade guy, or call in air strikes. It sucked tho cuz i coulda held out like 4ever and then they started firing that damn artillery at my guys i had in the bunker. O well, keep doin wut ur doin

quite obviously one of the best games on NG

this is one of the few games ive come across that i have actually played for at least an hour. this one topped my old record of an hour and a half of non stop playing. i have been playing this for 2 hours straight (how sad) and never once got bored. a pure masterpiece. if this gets blammed i will eat my hamster.

((( AWSOME )))

Awsome game, had lots of fun with it, i did play it 2x it was just that fun, the only thing i can say is that the file size was huge and could be something to work on unless you have other plans, great game though keep it up...
