Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.

Virtual Guitar features 66 noises (6 strings, 10 frets) and is easy to use. Please review. I made this because I didn't really see any virtual guitars on Newgrounds, I saw basses, drums, and other instruments, but no Guitars. So here is a Virtual Guitar for all of you guys. I relise in the game I spelt "VIRTUAL" wrong so you don't have to put it in the reviews anymore. If you like it please visit:

its good and all

but i wish you were able to put the notes into a sequence box or something like that, so that you can make your own song

Rated 5 / 5 stars

this is the best thing ever since "play the lute by ear"

Rated 2 / 5 stars

should be if you are holding down the mouse it plays any of the strings you pass over giving it a more realistic feel
sounds and looks good otherwise

Rated 2.5 / 5 stars

ok, but...

your b-string is way out of tune.
plus, this should allow you to strum more than one string at a time.

Rated 3 / 5 stars

i play guitar!!!!!

anyways, though i like the idea, it seemed like a rip off of punk-o-matic, also, u should of spaced the strings farther apart, it was way too hard to play on the e and b string, they were just way to damn close for someone to click it

it would of been if u tryed to make people to play some easy songs, u know, "learn to play (insert song)" and the the different frets and strings would light up, kind of like a sing-a-long i guess.....

Rated 3 / 5 stars

Great idea but...

You should've put more into it. It was cool and all, but you should be able to do chords and all that. And even worse... it was really out of tune. You should make a second version or something, and put more into it.

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

Not bad at all...

I like the idea, but the execution was a bit off. Make the interface a bit more user friendly, and you'll have something great here. As it stands, it's just a bit too unwieldy, and thus not as enjoyable as it could be. Good stuff overall, but could be great with work.

Rated 4 / 5 stars

good, but

good idea, but if you could make it like punk-o-matic where you can save the song it would be better. also have bends and hammers and all those other cool fx's too. good start!

Rated 3 / 5 stars

Good stuff. spelled virtual wrong in the movie.

Rated 4 / 5 stars

Guitar, where?

Sounds real enough to me.

Rated 1.5 / 5 stars

pretty good sound

that was sopme really good sound, i liked that, but if u have played the guitar before like me, it would be a lot better if u played chords as well.

Rated 3 / 5 stars

could be better

yeah, when I play I use chords also, mostly power chords,so you should have some way to do them.

Rated 1 / 5 stars

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

That's pretty cool

Definitely innovative. I don't think I've
seen any others like it. The sound is great
and the concept is fun. If you decide to make another maybe you could add a way to hit
multiple notes simultaneously. Nice job.

Rated 1 / 5 stars

I hated it I got bored in a manner of seconds. BORING!!!

Rated 4 / 5 stars

cool all the notes are standard tuning and R right

its new , and its probably a good field but maybe you should make a music machine where you can do a combination of shit , in other words powerchords and then give us more frets ,then you make it time and stufff, and after play it back.kinda like punk-o-matic.

nevernamed not insane???

Rated 2 / 5 stars

This needs a lot of work.

Maybe the addition of slides, and maybe doing it so your guitar is timed correctly?

Record and playback would be nice, as well as demo songs. Maybe even the ability to add in power chords and majors and stuff.

Rated 4 / 5 stars

awesome... could use some work though... make bigger spaces or something...

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

It would have be a lot better IFFFFFFFFFF... didn't suck. Did the 'D' string sound out of tune to anyone else? If it didn't, maybe I should turn my discman down some, huh? But yeah, I respect your attempt here, guy...but nevertheless, my boyfriend still is THE guitar god. You just can't beat him. Good try.

Rated 3 / 5 stars

It was Ok, except that you put the strings to close together, so that made it a little hard, if you wanted to try playing anything and, the D-string did sound a little out of it. Don't quit your day job, Bub.

Rated 1 / 5 stars

It sucked.
Why it sucked:
1. D string was out of tune
2. Strings were too close together.
3. Some of your sound files timing were off.

I'm sorry sucked.

Rated 1.5 / 5 stars

the sounds were off a bit......and it shoud be horizontal not vertical. to improve you could make it so you click on a sieres of strings and then it plays back or somthing. anyhew good idea .oh ya i tried to play greensleeves and it was imposible im going off to tri to play it on my gutar verticly

Rated 2.5 / 5 stars

You could of done better.

I liked the idea, but you could of done better than that. I play guitar so it was something definatly new to the grounds. You should make another one, but try to take your time.

Rated 1 / 5 stars

ure tuning is slightly off like my spelling :S

good attmept but it was a little flat and hard to do because its verticle but nice attmept try and revamp it mate, keep it up, peace.

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

yea i played van morrison on it kinda.

Rated 2.5 / 5 stars

u should do this if u can

dude to improve the game alittle better u should have instead of clicking it u should be able to just move the mouse across. then poeple can play van morrison. but if u can't i'm just sugging it not tell u have too

Rated 5 / 5 stars

Awesome!!! So sweet!!1

This is like one of the best virtual things I have ever seen, great job!

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

a few fixes needed

for one thing, the open notes are kind of inconveniently placed. maybe have the strings going to the side and the open at the top. also, being able to play chords would make this better as well. maybe, instead of clicking, just have a mouseover play the strings. or even better, have a mouseover while holding the mouse button down play the strings so you could play or not play certain notes.

Rated 0 / 5 stars

I dont think a guitar even sounds like that to low i dont if its just me but ya

Rated 3 / 5 stars

Yay! I can play crazy train on that!

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

not bad

well some of it isnt tuned properly the notes dont sound right. other than that you did pretty good, its nice that you took the insentive

Rated 5 / 5 stars

This was good. Just make it easier to make real songs and chords. This must have taken a lot of time though...

Rated 1.5 / 5 stars

This is horrible!

I 'll grant you that MOST virtual games really suck, and you can't play them, so I guess you are no exception. But, you can only play with five frets on each string, the guitar isn't in tune properly, and there is mediocre-at-best graphics for the guitar. All there is a guitar neck with five frets.

Take the time to add more to this.

Rated 0 / 5 stars

I don't know where to begin. The guitar is completely out of tune. The volume, duration, and timbre of each note is wildly variant. The strings are not evenly spaced, and are too close together to boot. "Dot" is mispelled and there are grammatical mistakes in the instructions. You saw virtual drums, basses, and other instruments on NG because those instruments would be fun to fool around with in this format. Given that the guitar is either a chord-based instrument or a solo instrument that relies on speed and precision, your decision to emulate a guitar like this makes little sense.

Rated 2 / 5 stars

Needs a lot more

Try submitting it again after you fix the things that a lot of reviewers suggested. I also suggest you being able to hit the strings using the keyboard. This is easy. If those are button objects, make them also use a key press.

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

nice! this is pretty close.

This is cool, and you should make a 2.0 version with a finger that you can drag across and stuff. that'd be cool

Rated 1.5 / 5 stars

May I make a suggestion. . .

If you want to make a guitar simulator, *ahem* MAKE IT SO THAT YOU CAN PLAY CHORDS ON IT!!! Sorry 'bout that, but what use is a guitar simulator that doesn't do chords, man, think about it, that was the point of having six strings, wasn't it? Just wanna jam out on some phatty chords! Had to rate low, I mean its a good piece, sure, but you should work on it some more. I would very much like to rate you higher.(Can you tell that I play the guitar avidly?)

Rated 0 / 5 stars

humor = 10

tune your guitar dude.
very good idea tho.

try and make all of them the same exact length,
or the length of the note a max of 5 beats, and depending on how long you push down on yoru mouse......
you get me.

Im TedBell

Rated 5 / 5 stars

good idea kinda hard to play anything but good

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

That was cool lol

I liked it. I play bass and some guitar so yep it was cool. That was a cool idea and I had fun playing lol. You should make a bass one next, BASS KICKS ASS! 3/5 For you

Rated 3 / 5 stars

Not Bad...

Need to space the strings a little bit more, especially the B and high E strings. Maybe figuring our a different way to play open strings, that made it hard to keep anything in time (I tried playing a couple songs :-P). Be kinda cool to have a little collection of stomp boxes so you could have distortion and all that... but that's all if you're gonna keep working with the idea. If not.. good production for a first shot!

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

Pretty good

Well ive played the guitar for 5 years now i know quite alot i know loads of songs but what im saying is it was very very hard to use especially when your trying to play a song its still good though just give it a try and you might like it or you might not

Rated 2 / 5 stars

it was aright not good but not bad well yes it is bad i changed my mind! AND YOU CANT STOP ME! muhahahaha

Rated 2.5 / 5 stars

i think the gutiar was out of tune.....

Rated 1.5 / 5 stars

good concept

but the guitar was totaly out of tune, and you could've at least had 12 or 18 frets.... and you should've made it show the whole neck with the head stock so that you could click above the nut to make an open string sound, instead of going to the side.....

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars

i suggest spacing the strings out ALOT ALOT more though, and go at least 12 frets, cuz thats were the nots repeat them selves on the guitar, very very fun though, and i could actually play songs on it, i could play purple haze, stairway to heavan, and obvioudly iron man and smoke on the water, good work!

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars

Not bad

only let down, is that your guitar is out of tune .... You you should try to make one with distortion. Cause all I can partially shred on this is Marry Had a little Lamb acoustically. Great idea... has serious potential.

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

I think thay all that has to be said has been said...just next time, try to make the neck a little longer

Rated 3 / 5 stars

Great idea!

i thought this would be a great idea for someone to make this and its right here! could of done a lil bit more work on it tho it was kinda crappy

Rated 2.5 / 5 stars

that was pretty good

dood seriously....u couldn't play many songs on it, i was gonna play "the beutiful people" by manson. but u need to be able to play 2 strings at the same time, so make it to where u can have the OPTION to play it on keyboard, but u would also need to say wut wuz wut. like mayeb have a keyboard and have the frets on it or ya no sumthin along those lines. i played that stupid song by chevelle lolz its the first song i knew. great idea man, make another one

Rated 4 / 5 stars

it would work better with a bass

it would work better with a bass, because its hard to play fast on this and you can only play 1 string at a time

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

I just played the ultra slow acoustic version of Slayers "Raining Blood". Good job! (I gave it 10 for violence because Raining Blood is a violent song!!!)

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

at least u tried

also what kind of guitar do u have. i have a gibson SG and my best song to play is prob eruption also im 13 also it was alright except it didnt have all the frets and u couldnt hit the strings open. also fuck the mamazboy he is a fag and prob cant play shit

Rated 4 / 5 stars

It was alright. The only bad thing was you couldnt do chords. I got a PRS SE and i been playin for about 10 months. The only thing i could play on that virtual guitar was smoke on the water lol.

Rated 1.5 / 5 stars

Worst guitar sim I've ever 'played'.

Seriously, TUNE YOUR GUITAR FIRST. What's the point in having a virtual guitar which never goes out of tune when it isn't tuned in the first place?

Now that I've gotten the main point out of the way, the strings are too close together. It's can be hard to hit the fret you want.

Next, there's too much of a delay between clicking and the note sounding.

Final point, why are the open strings separate? Surely it would be much easier if they were along the nut of the guitar?

Anyway, please, please, PLEASE buy a guitar tuner. Guitar sims aren't really meant to work too well, but this is ridiculous.

Rated 0 / 5 stars

Tune the guitar

I played my guitar along wit it and it is WAAAAAY off tune.

Rated 0.5 / 5 stars

wow that was gay

i play guitar and that was a descrace it sucked the biggest balls ever ....mine.

Rated 1.5 / 5 stars

that was hard to do plus your guitar was/still is out of tune which made it ten times worse then what it should be

Rated 2 / 5 stars

out of tune

im sorry but its just a little bit out of know im good at the guitar just not too good at it on the computermaybe try updating it?

Rated 1 / 5 stars

Out of tune.

I have perfect pitch... and your guitar is out of tune, pretty flat. It really bugs me. Please fix this. Get a tuner, or have me tune it. This isn't as bad as the last guy's guitar simulator. Maybe I should make my own IN TUNE bass simluator though...

Rated 1.5 / 5 stars

why is it up and down? who plays like that? at least turn it the right way.

Rated 5 / 5 stars

I play guitar and it is a pretty good sim, but no chords and not electric.

Rated 5 / 5 stars

I also play guitar and need to practice more on the chords, but this was kinda cool. Actually I taught myself guitar and piano, looks like you wanna become a gitarist huh? I do too.

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars

Nice game! one thing, being a guitarist myself, I heard that the G string was a bit out of tune. I checked it, and it didnt sound right. I played "Smoke on the Water" on your little game:) *Hums "Smoke on the Water."* great game!

Rated 0 / 5 stars

Nice Man! it was good

its good, i will not give a score because its virtual, but im a guitarist and it was good, te G string was off a bit (as the last guy said) and i liked it! but just to tell you, why play virtual guitar when you can play a real guitar??? its not bad but im not a big fan (BUT IT WAS STILL GREAT) you should make a virtual electric guitar for even more virtual fun! (SORRY FOR THE LONG REVEIW!)

Rated 3 / 5 stars

Rated 1.5 / 5 stars

nice, but not in tune

well, the guitar was sorta out of tune, but it was pretty cool to do this.

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

It Was Good Too Bad Could'nt Hold A Note.

It Was fun but you can't hold the note and yes i agree it is out of tune but oh well i enjoyed it, its okay for a little while.

Rated 3 / 5 stars

it needs work and you should be able to hit a key on your keyboard to play open strings,I played the easy version of iron man and smoke on the water then I shut it off, with work it could be really great.

Rated 2.5 / 5 stars

This was an alright game. The thing i didn't like about it was that you couldn't play notes fast. If there was a way to add the notes to like a list and choose the speed than have it played back that would be cool.

Rated 1 / 5 stars

Hell Song by SUM41

LOL i was working out hell song and it was a bit out of tune but otherwise it was quite boring cuz i play guitar, drums, piano and violin and it was quite boring

Rated 4 / 5 stars

hey cool virtual guitar

next time though, try to add the feature of strumming chords if u can

but awesome

Rated 2.5 / 5 stars

it was alright. just need to be able to play notes faster, and maybe somehow use the keyboad instead of mouse.

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

Cool concept

But there aren't enough frets, It's hard to play notes quickly, and the D string may be a tad out of tune. I'm not sure. I would suggest maybe using the keyboard somehow, for the strings, and/or adding a feature that allows you to "record" notes, (press the fret, play the note, and the computer puts it in a lineup of notes.) and then have the game play it back at a higher speed.

Rated 2 / 5 stars

"virtiual guitar"

in this game not say virttual guir

Rated 3 / 5 stars

good game

it is a GOOD game for noob trying to learn 2 play guitar

Rated 5 / 5 stars

but really slowly.
I'll give you a 10/10 5/5.
You know why?
It was very accurate,I could also play People Equals Shit and everybody likes that song, every note sounded like the real thing and.... well u frontin...THROUGH THE FIRE AND THE FLAMES WE CARRY OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNN

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

duude.. o.o

it's good but, i must be a jackass critic:
The g string is out of tune
the b string is hard to press on and
i would LOVE to see this on a keyboard, to make it easier and faster.

Rated 2.5 / 5 stars

i guess you could use it for tuning

you should have it like this, but also add a hand with each finger being a color. then let people place the fingers on certain cords to make bar cords and all that. when they have placed their fingers where they want them have a save finger location button. then let them label them whatever and save them to a button.
this way they could actually play songs. you could also add some sheet music a poster in the back ground that that shows finger location for cheating and a working metronome. then, after all that you would have a kick ass game. you could also add guitar customization and foot pedals.

Rated 1.5 / 5 stars

This game **** ***!

How s*** can game be.

Rated 1 / 5 stars

maybe next time

if it was wider and in tune and the sound did not sound like it was from a 20$ guitar it would be better
