It's true:). Back awhile ago, Phil died, and the townspeople went to ImClone and had it....well....cloned outside U.S. borders, since the U.S. is so pigheaded in response to using cloning to help the world.

The current "Phil" is Phil XytoPhyte #6, and is currently has an I.Q. of 90!

He enjoys long walks in his cage, eating carrots in his cage, and sleeping in his cage.

True fact, that "stump" you see Phil coming from is a fake!, and is really a cage, slightly bigger inside than his actual home the rest of the year. Once a Phil clone dies, his body is fed to the town's police dogs on "Feast O' Phil" day, which is held every 4 years of February 29th, whether the current "Phil" had died of natural causes or not.

Some times, if the current Phil isn't ready for this honor, the townspeople help him along with a good ol' helpful shot of Euth-N-Asia sleepy tonic.:) Yup.

Throughout the south, many still honor this day by helping other groundhogs find sleep, whether by tonic, or by swift painless truck. They then join in the jamboree and eat "Phil" burgers in honor of their woodland friends.
