Yippie, my very FIRST Flash Movie EVER.
I'm just new to Flash so don't expect any super artwork!
It took me a small week to complete the movie, working on it 1-2 hours a day.
Lots of thanks to Don Hertzfeldt, this is a remake on his famous Flash: Rejected

-Episode 2 is HERE!!!

BTW: Norman doesn't float, just check his feet.

Good job

Well i think you did a good job of making your norman character geeky by adding those bright red shoes. The sound effects were great and you used a lot of them which added to the humour but mostly the violence. The only thing i might have done with this idea is make it an interactive flash where you can pick each of the girls yourself, making it a bit more entertaining to interact with a flash.

unoriginal

This is just a copycat of an animated short I saw on Spike & Mike's sick and twisted film festival. Like someone else mentioned, it's called "Ah, L'Amour" by Don Hertzfeldt ( http://www.bitterfilms.com/lamour.html ), where it was done with a stick guy who keeps getting rejected by girls... bypasses the undesirable one.... but then at the end, he says to the girl "i've got money", so then she loves him. And the original wasn't done in flash, it was hand drawn animation. The best part of the movie is the clever concept, which is a stolen concept in this case.

Senne responds:

Dude, it doesn't matter that it was or wasn't a Flash, I mentioned it was a remake of Don Hertzfeld's movie so quit yer whining!

I don't normally like violent movies that much...

But then, I suppose this isn't a 'normal' violent movie. It's not a fight scene and the violence is actually put into some sort of context.

When the violence comes, it's not really expected so is all the funnier for that reason.

The 'morale' of the story provides yet another level of humour and all-in-all, I can't fault the 'script'/'plot'.

I rather liked the graphics and sound myself. The graphics weren't artistically stunning, but they work better with the plot I feel. I still cringed as he was stabbed with the knife and had he been more human, I may have felt more guilty laughing at his pain.

The shrieks too were great, as were the sound effects and the opening intro.

All in all, this is a sublime movie. Well done!

By the way, I couldn't find Don Hertzfeldt's Rejected on this site. If you could provide me with a link it'd be much appreciated.

Stay funky,

sexist pig!

nah i'm jkin lol, cool flash. gave me some ideas though :>

5

Not a bad movie for it's file size. First thing, add voices, it could really help the score. Also, there is a big lack of movements, Norman repeats the same movement the entire movie, and the Girls hardly even move. OK, now the good stuff, the characters themselves, forget the fact that they are sticks, do look pretty good in their different outfits. The different deaths were somewhat funny. I hope episode 2 will be better.
