You have a story? Sweet, no animation should begin without a story.
But is it going to be a text story or are you going to be making an actual movie of it? If the latter, I advise you find a way to add more fluidity and character to the animation. Cut outs are nice, but you might have trouble getting viewers into the visuals when they're as stiff as they are.
Otherwise, the premise is open and full of possibilities. I'll be keeping an eye on this!

A short video I made as an assignment in Motion Graphics. We could animate any scene of our choosing, but we had a time limit of 45 seconds to one full minute

I actually have plans to make this into a full-fledged story-based game, but as it stands now, it's still pretty early in pre-planning and whatnot. Nothing new to add unless you count story bits.
I will most definitely keep this in mind for when it comes time to animating. For that, I thank you very much :)
