Super late: Thanks for the FP <3
I started this drawing back in November 2017. It was a run of the mill drawing that after sketching, lining and laying down flats looked like this: https://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/randogw/caught-wip
After not being able to get the flats right I realised that i didn't really like the drawing to begin with, so (after abandoning it for several months) I started again; the next time actually pushing myself with the lines and colours, following the exact same sketch. Whilst still flawed, I think my next shot was far better because of this.
It's easy to get discouraged with your work as an artist and it's something I find happens often, but I never realised how self-voluntary this was. If you don't put in the effort, you don't get the results, and when it comes to improving "drawing a lot" is useless if that effort isn't there.
Just something I thought was interesting.
