Lol. Would you believe that I haven't sold a piece of work in my life, how funny is that?
I knew I shouldn't have said that, it totally came out wrong. It was meant more as a rhetorical statement than an arrogant assumption that i should have sold work or something. I know the what the art industry is like, I'm not naive. It's to be expected since I haven't really tried selling or exhibiting that much anyway. Sigh... that probably came out wrong too.
Sorry. Maybe my wording was poor also.
There are benefits and drawbacks to writen dialogue over conversational dialogue. One of the drawbacks is, obviously, that all tone and emphasis is lost.
What I said (if that's what you are responding to, at least in part) was never intended as anything belittling your intelligence or knowledge in any way. Just sort of a sopbox deal to the general public by way of response, if that makes any sense..?
It wasn't directed toward you but more toward Dark_Toaster or anyone who thinks that having artistic talent (or any kind of talent really) is some kind of easy road to fortune, as that is far from the truth (nothing personal Toaster :)).
I should just learn to keep my mouth shut.
