Treasure Hunt 2008 RESULTS 4/4 2008-11-17 10:59:10
Last month we had a Treasure Hunt contest that resulted in thousands of recommendations for overlooked submissions. I decided to break the results into four parts, the previous three being:
Today's post is an attempt to point out some other noteables from the Treasure Hunt.
I'll start off with the list of great submissions that never got enough time or love on the front page:
These Are The Boring Bitsby joedavisMorgan decides to take control of his life
Big Bag.by BillSkeltonTwo circles go on a friendship quest.
Ghost Out Part 3by RedMongooseEmbrace the connection with death and peace shall become your shell.
earthsickby notorious7 minute music video for the band Subtle.
A Christmas Special, orby SarkazmA Christmas Special, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Christmas

Multfilm (Opa Novy God!)by Scarydolla music video
Moving along, I'm gonna highlight less-known movies by well-known artists.
Similarly, AlantheBOX has been a highly celebrated artist, with a long-awaited DVD in the works, but perhaps you haven't seen some of his lesser-known stuff:
the safety danceby CDplayaSorry about the size.
garbage dayby AlantheBOXinspired by actual events
Backseatkiss has always been a favorite of mine that never gets the attention he deserves. You can start with this overlooked submission:
Psycosis91 has done some great work with sprites, but this video never hit the radar:
Scarydoll became an early king of twisted films on NG, with Lost Dias Sin Dias. That same year, he released this overlooked film:
Disk Extermination was front paged, but not the glorious version 2:
Kol-Belov is another long-celebrated artist whos name has come up repeatedly over the years. You may have seen PUSTOTA, but have you seen this?
Jim Ether is another artist who made a splash in the early days of NG with his submission, "Pimpin' Aint Easy." He later became unhappy with it and replaced it with a video about hot dogs. Since you can't watch Pimpin', you can watch this:
So that wraps it up for the 2008 Treasure Hunt. I announced there wouldn't be any prizes for this fourth post, so if you missed that, I'm sorry... No prizes. Everyone wins the prize of getting to watch lots of cool movies.
I'm planning to attempt a quarterly treasure hunt, focusing on three months at a time rather than the entire history of NG. On that note, it's about time to get started on the 2008 Flash Portal History!
I'm also gonna try to make more posts about specific artists. I get nervous that doing this will only create a new way to disenfranchise those who get overlooked, but I think it will be worth doing.
What are your favorites from the list above? Also, share your thoughts on artists you would like to see spotlighted.
