It turned out to be a much more ambitious project than we ever imagined, but It's official: we've launched our very own NG Store! What started out as a modest offering of Newgrounds logo shirts a little over one year ago is ready to become the full-blown emporium we envisioned.
Tom envisioned the store as more than just a place for fans to snag a few shirts. We wanted a single place for the site's most talented artists to sell their CDs and DVDs, and to provide an outlet for us to sell our own crazy ideas.
The store was designed by Stamper to be more attractive and helpful than generic cart systems on other sites. We think the mini-cart, product galleries, and last-purchaser sections help to do this and think you'll agree. And before everyone clamors to ask where we got all the site content, the photos were all taken by Stamper and me and the descriptions were written by friend-of-the-site Chris Puzak.
Rob did ALL of the heavy lifting. We knew we were finally on the right track once he started designing the back end first, knowing right out of the gate that product updates were our greatest concern (...you know how we like to keep things fresh around here). So thanks to a new inventory system there will be no more out-of-stock surprises, and those who have been asking to purchase stickers in varying quantities will be happy to see that our custom shopping cart is set up to handle things like that. And because Rob loves you all very much he kindly made sure that the User Gear pages were a part of the initial launch, so that any future purchases will be credited to your account.
So there you have it guys and gals, our new store is open for business; and keep an eye out for new products in the coming weeks, like an official NG poster and a patch from Mindchamber. To help celebrate, one of the designs that is nearest and dearest to our hearts is on sale for only $5: that little rascal Pico himself.
