I don´t recall seeing a movie club in the C&C in the last year or so, and the search bar didn´t turn up any results, so here we go.

Ok, so this, if all goes well, will be a club to talk about your favorite movies. Sure, you can put your favorite movies on your profile, but no-one really looks at that, and you can´t comment anything about them.

So, here we´ll be talking about what your favourite movies are, or about new movies in the cinema. People can exchange opinions as to which new movies to watch, and which not to watch etc...

So come on now, the more the merrier. Just post a few of your favourite movies and you´re in.

All three Bourne films - first was my favourite. Those films blew me away. Also, I loved The Matrix (as did most people, in spite of the sequels), and some weirder stuff like Pan's Labyrinth.

I like quite a lot of war movies as well, and a fair few Clint Eastwood films. That guy is a total badass.

I think i´ve seen the first 2 Bourne movies. They were good, and Matt Damon is a good actor, and can play nearlly any type of role, and he played this role great. Yeah, I know you have to click 'view all favourites' or something, but I just meant it's lame that they don't have them on the main page of your profile now.

Yeah, I think he was perceived as a bit of a nerd before doing the Bourne films, but he fitted the role really well I thought.

There were some really cool stunts in those movies aswell. I didn´t used to like the Matrix when it first came out, mainly because of the over hype, but i watched it again recently and enjoyed it more.

Hype is lame, because the more hyped a movie is, the more disappointed you are when you finally see it. I felt that way about 300... the trailers looked great, but the actual movie wasn't all it was hyped up to be. Several of the actors played unconvincing roles at best, and parts of the dialogue were just embarrassing.

Pan´s Labyrinth was really good, i recommend it to anyone who hasn´t seen it.

I never used to be, and I still wouldn't call myself a massive Eastwood fan, but I like several of his movies, for example, High Plains Drifter and Heartbreak Ridge to name a few.

Clint is the man. Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, the Enforcer, Pale Rider, in the Line of Fire. all kickass.

all great films. You're the first person I've seen mention the Lives of Others. That was a very good movie. Actually, I'd give it 5 out of 5 stars. Just to make sure, you are talking about the German film, das Leben der Anderen, right?

The man who played the main character in that was in another film that was pretty good called Black Book (Zwartboek). It kind of drags on and is a bit soap opera-ish, but it's still good. What's surprising is that Paul Verhoven made it. I wouldn't expect a good, serious film from someone like him. As far as I've seen, his movies are usually either crap (Hollow Man, Showgirls, Flesh + Blood) or just fun popcorn movie types not to be taken seriously (Robocop, Total Recall).

I noticed that everybody seems to love no Coountry For Old Men (I do too) but what about other Coen brothers films? Millers Crossing was amazing. I'd say it's the best film they've made so far. And Fargo, Raising Arizona, and O Brother Where Art Thou were all great as well. Blood Simple was quite good, too.

Yeah, well I think I'll put Castle in the Sky and spirited Away in there after I seem them a couple more times. I already own Spirited Away, but I don't own Castle in the Sky, which of course, I should. I might even put Nausicaa on the list. I've only seen it once and I can't remember it that well any more.

But yes, I'd say Princess Mononoke is his best movie out of what I've seen, which include Nausicaa, Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle.

So you havn't seen Kiki's Delivery Service? Oh well. And Nausicaa is better than Castle in the Sky IMO. Although Castle in the Sky is great. Those robots were fucking cool.

Across the Universe. I didn't grow up in the 60's so I wasn't too familiar with the history and celebs. It was one big gooey love story wraped up in tons of classic Beatles songs. Got bored in a few parts but it was really trippy in a few too. Was good overall.

Me too! I have; Nausicaa, Laputa, Princess Mononoke, Spirited away and Howls moving castle all on DVD and they are amazing. I haven´t seen Kiki´s delivery service yet, but want to see it.
I think out of all the Ghibli studio movies i´ve seen i liked Laputa or Princess Mononoke the most.

Get the Alien Quadrilogy box set. It's dirt cheap, has theatrical and directors cut/extended editions/alternate cut of all 4 films, and fuck tons of extras.

I watched Aliens to death about a year and a half ago, and was getting to the stage of knowing the script by heart, but I got tired of it. Aliens just has the awesome for me. Jurassic Park has the awesome AND the nostalgia.

Yeah, a buddy of mine has that motherfucker, and it's quite the set.
