Thanks guys, glad to hear they aren't dead :).

As Winter strengthens, so does nostalgia. So, I have decided to return to Newgrounds. I have recently decided that I'm tired of being frustrated that I can't draw what I want, so instead of even trying, I just stay in my comfort zone, and some how justify that within such mindset I'll get better someday. But, beating a dead horse only turns it to glue.

With Campnorth dying before it was even born, I have been lacking any outside artistic influence. Newgrounds is still here and people are still creating. Most of all, people are learning and helping each other in their artistic journeys.

It depends on who you ask that is considering scouting you/them. Ive seen some bad stuff on the portal but whats bad to me is not going to be bad to the guy who scouted them. Theres no YOU MUST BE THIS GOOD TO POST faq or image to compare your/their stuff to. I think the main thing is that your art has to look appealing to somebody somewhere. Thats the quality that gets into the art portal.

My first guess would be tumblr, according to this infographic.

I don't draw red noses unless the character is supposed to be inebriated. To that effect.

I was hoping that I would return to magic and wonder, not grumbles and angst.

I started wanting to draw yesterday, but my computer is broken. All I have is my Iphone, Scribble is a poor substitut for artistic endeavours, they also ban people who draw penis jokes (bummer!) You know what else is a poor substitut? Spell-check for Auto-correct. Worse? Swedish auto-correct.

At least I have my pencils, my annoyingly easily breakable pencils. Anyway, all thats just padding, what I really wanted to say was Hi!

I just realized that I forgot to hold the Art Forum Awards for 2013 (and no one else seemed to remember either).

So are you folks interested in actually having them, or should I just leave it be?

I've been having fun using Snapchat as a way to make quick disposable doodles that go away after a day. You can take a picture of whatever and then draw stuff on top with a simple brush in any color. Any of y'all with snapchat hit me up! I like it because you can see who takes the time to look at them and it's no pressure if they're throwaway because they just disappear. A good way to kill a few minutes. Yeah. Try it!

I discussed it with the folks on tinychat, and it looks like 2013 will not be having any awards.

2013 was just a really slow, really quiet year. Some regs slowly drifted away from the community, while other users slowly drifted into it, but I don't know if anything really stood out or popped.....
