and it seems so have you with that much needed addition to the portal, laughing at the thought of 14 year olds being caught off guard by it during their daily wank sessions.

I'm fine, thank you.
This manis my idol.
Ninety eight years old and oblivious to the retro cash in others make for "nostalgic value". His art has an impressionist aesthetic, the condition of his eyesight resulting in a minimalistic but relentlessly ornamented technique. (speaking of which there's a whole other conversation to have on that subject) No retrospect in sight, there's nothing nostoligc about his palettes or frame of reference. This man's work is chippy, noisy, and decorative, it shares countless features with techniques found in traditional art. Grandpa is a direction to point to when confronted with the age old argument that pixelated graphics are a cheap shot at retro superficialism by anyone too uninformed to know what pixeljoint is. I can sleep without a stir, thank you Hal Lasko.

Scouted.
I don't know if anyone's actually still active on this thread, but opinions on my art would be appreciated, and I'll leave my opinions on yours.
-- No, this is not self-promotion or pathetic "S4S", I just show interest in what other people do and think of whatIdo --

[Spends two seconds googling it]

Share for share? That doesn't even make sense. What is this the stock market or something.

It's like a you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. Plug for plug, it should really be called, but the internet term now is 'share'.

If I'm being honest, when I googled it the immediate meaning I got was "Shit 4chan says", which made no sense to me ...
"Share For Share". Facebook term. All you need to know.
... but when I googled it later I thought this made more sense.
First time I've heard it though. I'm not keen on the implication that has of people spreading shit around simply because they have a lot of connections, rather than it is actually worth sharing.

Ok im gonna ask a question that will propably raise pitchforks and torches..Im in NG for a little more than a month so yeah...
WTF is clock day? I know , many of you expect this with all you might , for some its the single most important thing in this year but im clueless. I learned that there is a community born from NG that focuses on animation and has nicknames and themes based on clocks but , what is the CLOCK DAY. Is it like robot day were everyone submits content related to the day's theme? Are you guys giving away free clocks? What?
At 8/12/13 05:11 PM, Kkylimos wrote: WTF is clock day?
The portal used to have a crew of submitters who went under clock based guises, like StrawBerryClock or ... BlackMarketClock. They made simplistic Flashes with MS Sam voices for fun.
... although if you don't know who they are, it might be high time to retire that day. They haven't had a presence in the portal for a long while, now.
At 8/12/13 05:11 PM, Kkylimos wrote: WTF is clock day?
People used to form groups (and occasionally still do) in order to submit content under a shared label. The Clock Crew was one such group. These groups were infamous for submitting poorly created, poorly curated content and using the power of numbers to force their flashes through the judgement process.
This is the Clock Crew's most famous creation. The Clock Crew grew such in popularity that they eventually were regarded fondly by the majority of Newgrounds, so in their honour once a year Newgrounds celebrates by flooding each and every single portal with terrible trash and "5-bombing" it (by mass-voting the highest score).
Even as much as I advocate quality content, I can admit that it's a fuckload of fun.
At 8/12/13 05:11 PM, Kkylimos wrote: WTF is clock day?
Oh thanks guys ! Good to know. lol at this , events like this one happen only in NG xD

Saw that Adobe posted this on Facebook. Seems like a really great concise primer. Obviously it doesn't cover everything, but it's a nice link to give to people asking how to improve.
Gonna be an arsehole here: why are you taking advice from a faceless corporation with a monopoly on the creative software market? granted: Bobby Myers's article is a pretty good read, but again, faceless corporation with a monopoly....

meh, let's not have an argument, to each their own mate, to each their own.

You shouldn't care about who said what, if the information is good its good, if its presented well its presented well. If Walmart came out with an ad telling you how to check for lead in your paint, and it was presented in an efficient, accurate and well thought out fashion, then its an ad worth looking at.
Care more about the product and less about the creator, as long as the information is sound, it doesn't matter who made it. Right is right, no other way around it.
