Better than melee wepons... you see if you take a bow and arrow against a sniper rifle the sniper would win, because the range of the sniper is far away and a bow you have to get close to use it.(well not like right next to the guy but therre might be a chance that you could get caught, same with the sniper but that would make it way more harder to find you) And a hand gun is better than a knife or sword because you can 1. shoot form a far distance.2. put a silencer on it3.easy to use. A knife or sword,(really how do you expect to kill someone with a sword be running at them and possibly yelling your head off, expecially if that guy has a gun)And a knife well you have to be really close to the person to hurt them.... so by my oppinon i think that guns>melee....yes a hand gun is better than a chainsaw.

Well, i use wired reflexes to block the bullets with my katana, then i use my teleport magic to get in close, duh.

you do know that bows arn't melee wepons. they are handheld knife, crush and slah wepons. that you have to be close to the enimy to use.plus a kick in the balls would beat any wepon! mankind only has to make guns to immitate that!

There are still "melee" or close combat weapons today for example: bayonets and combat knives are given to every soldier in the field of most militarys. Also you really cant compare a bow to a sniper rifle or any firearm for that matter because there is to great a difference. And just to clarify, most handguns dpnt really have a huge range and are only around 50 to 75 meters. And just one final thing, there is one item that is far more effective thna conventional firearms, and that is an explosive device such as c4, claymores,grenades, missiles, bombs, and nukes. And if you in the good old USA....NAPALM.
