What is it?

Taken directly from the site:Dwarf Fortress is a single-player fantasy game. You can control a dwarven outpost or an adventurer in a randomly generated, persistent world. what this means
is when you first load up the game, everything is randomly generated, Civilizations, places, :names,caves, Monsters, etc
