I believe he's referring to what the Native Americans called "spirit animals" or "totem animals" and I think his picture is supposed to be a spider.
Of course if it is a spider, it's missing a couple legs. So I haven't the foggiest what kind of insect it is.

Spend more time on your art, especially if you're starting a thread with it. Look at some references so you get the idea of the form of the creature then carefully draw it. The one you posted is very bad.
