Rap has been cool lately. And it totally pisses me off.
What do you think is best above all genres?

Classic rock, popular music peaked around 1970.

Thats not to say todays metal doesn't kick ass.

I'm more into The punk stuff, But new metal doesn't really catch my attention. I like Nu metal. Lol.i swear If i hear 'chain hang low' one more time im going to strangle someone.

He's not metal by no means. But no one can claim him. What genre is HE!?

My favourites would be, Prog rock, Psychedelia, Hardcore Punk, Reggae, Protest songs, Classic Rock and Political rap.

I can't choose a favorite genre because my tastes are all over the place. What I listen to usually depends on my mood and the corresponding mood of the song.

And about hiphop I think it's the worst music ever they just steal everything from ppl like me just baggy clothes and also they start to mosh and crowdsurfing...ugh I hate those hiphoppers.

I'd say slipknot is the gayest wanna-be metal ever. They're Freaking mainstream little girls.

Indie hip-hop/rock. Artists like Buck 65, Atmosphere, WHY?, Against Me!, Lucero, Limbeck, At the Drive-in.

Not mainstream hip hop at all. Or mainstream anything for that matter.

I didn't mean Nu metal, I meant new metal. As in recent. Nu metal is a gay term for a vague and indescript genre.

I havn't listened to much Mars Volta. I really like At the Drive in though. I know there are members in the band Sparta too, who arent that great.

Rap has been fucking crap lately. I stopped to be good in 2000.

Dre's CD "2001" was the last real good shit that came out. Only Eminem did some pretty good songs, and that's only because Dre's making his beats and that his lyrics are hilarious.

If you really think rap has been cool lately, well you enter in the kind of people that likes G-Unit crap and such things.

I'm still waiting for Detox, Dre's next album, and Lady Sovereign's CD who comes out in a few days.

But heh, I guess rap is my favorite music genre, but I like a lot of stuff, like rock, metal, classic, parody music, punk, etc.

Yeah, but when mainstream went downhill. Underground got amazing. The best hip hop artists i've ever heard have had their better albums in the 00s. Check out Sole, Sage Francis, Aesop Rock, Cage or Atmosphere.

I think he would be industrial metal. Industrials pretty cool. I also like some nu-metal, but the best is deffinetly 90's metal.
