It looks very basic but nice.

P.S. Anyone take a look @ my new template to point out why my layer inside of a layer isn't lining up right? The damn thing is valid XHTML and I can't figure it out and it's driving me nuts. http://fauxdreams.net/test/

If you get rid of display inline it shows up kinda right. What you see is #content is gonna show up correctly horizontally, but vertically it is going to always fall under #left, unless you float #left to take it out of the flow of the document, and then #content should fall into place nicely

Hi,

I eat Actionscript with PHP syrup for breakfast!
I like my HTML well-Javascripted with a hint of CSS to add some flavor.
I enjoy the taste of Lingo, but not its consistency.
Assembly is not my dish. It's too sour... An aquired taste I hear.
I've got to try C++ because it is said to be exquisite.

... Hows that for an Intro?

I did take the display out and at one point I did try a float but I think that failed too. I'll try it again later on when I get home from work.

Lol, still aLIVE. Only very busy. Lately I have been doing a lot of review modding for Newgrounds and work around 52 hours a week, so busy, busy, busy.
I still lurk here, but most topics are repeats anyway! :)

Haha, cool, cool. I guess it's also our time difference, as we're rarely on at the same time :)

Anyway I hope the review modding is going well for you. I'm sure you do a great job.

Ehh! I just don't understand how people can be flat broke and they complain about it (well, their mommy is flat broke), yet they have internet access, a playstation, yadda yadda and when you point it out to them, they're "insulted" by the comment. It drives me nuts >:(

The girl that worked with me also drove me nuts! She's on state assistance and has state insurance, etc. So she gets rent assistance (cash assistance) and food stamps. She's also on WIC(Women, Infants & Children food assistance) because she has a 2 yr old and now she's preggos again (WIC is good until the child is 5 I believe). So all I kept hearing was "oh, I'm gonna buy this and that and I did this to my apartment, yadda yadda" and I'm standing there, wanting to say something like "with what money? you're barely working here as it is..." Her oldest is 13 and lives with her, she used to live with her mom and her 10 yr old daughter got attached and so she just stayed and she only pays $8 a freakin week for child support for her mom and stepdad to take care of her daughter when they buy everything for her (computer, cds, dvds, etc.). Then she gets her paycheck and goes to one of those check cashing places that takes like 1.5% of the check to cash it instead of opening a bank account.

I don't know why people do that! It's retarded!

P.S. My website is going to die >:(

Ah, that sucks. It looks very nice though. I'm not very good when it comes to CSS. I use tables for all my layouts and never have any problems.

Your main problem was that the only layer within a later was Left which was inside Title you closed both of those and left Content hangin'. Basically now what you have is Left and Content are both inside Title which is being treated as your container for now(I would probably change that for organizations sake). Left is floated to the left so it is taken out of the flow of the page, and then Content is just given a margin that clears the space taken up by Left so it appears next to it.
P.S. I took out some stuff I didnt think you needed such as the relative positioning on everything, the z-indexes and the auto right margins on Content and Left. I also took out the ads when I was fiddling around with the code so it would make it easier for me to look at

Are you serious? How the hell did I miss that one?! Ugh! I knew there was something wrong but I couldn't "see" it.

I want it that way because I was having problems aligning my divs with the background and wanted to try it like this, especially for minimized browser windows, that way it floats to the center.

I always give "position" and I don't normally do z-indexes but I had it in there just incase that was causing the confusion. Thanks!

Now I have to get my site back up and I have to finish working on Chaos Insignia, which I'm seriously ready to say "fuck it."

I hate those errors I've had times where I spent days trying to figure out why a div wasnt showing up on the page when it turned out I spelled background, backround

I figured the z-indexes where one of those "well maybe this does something" sorta things

I was doing CSE, the program was almost all programming and that wasn't what I wanted to do. I took VB and digital circuitry but I would've had to take C++, Pascal, Fortran and I don't remember what else but there was no flexibility in the program to take what I wanted. Turned me off :(

Thats a lot of languages and Fortran is ancient...still used but ancient.

Yeah, I'm not sure if the program was revised but the amazing thing is that my advisor, who was the head of the department at the time (she retired), she's blind! Teaching algebra and Pascal & Fortran being blind (I took algebra with her and umm had issues with her screwing up quite a bit). She's the only one that taught those 2 classes, so it would've sucked even more than taking VB.

Ok so after I went through all of that crap trying to get things positioned properly, I've decided to go ahead and change things because overflowing stuff sucks for positioning (IE 7 & FF don't like my layout but IE 6 does).

So anyway, anyone do anything interesting today? I could've worked on my site all day and gotten it done while I was at work, that's how "busy" I was. It was one of the worst days ever!
