yea the doom series has been 1 of the best games ever made and its true doom is a little better than halo but when halo3 comes out doom will be blown away.Face the light halo is the new gneration.

What you find better is strictly matter of opinion, to post here as though it was fact is rather ignorant.
Halo's levels suck as they are all the same graphic over and over again. Apart from that I'm more into online fps as they provide a real challenge because you're against real people, like in CS.

Have you ever played any online FPS other than Halo 2? Because this doesn't happen on the majority of online FPS, just Halo 2.
There are many points to why doom is much better than halo.
In this point I will bring up the multiplayer
In halo, it goes like this...
Whoever has the better weapon in the fight wins, if they both have the same weapon, it's whoever shoots first, I know this because the characters move so slow it's impossible to miss.
In doom on the other hand...
The game only has 8 (9 in doom 2) weapons, and that's all that's needed, because in shooters nowadays, there are a lot of weapons that are never used due to another weapon being much better for the job.
Also the game is based on pure skill with three things you have to be good at to have a chance to win...
Tactics. *Where to engage your opponet, what weapon to use in the area.*
Movement. *Ability to dodge enemy shots. Since you can actually move faster than half a mile per hour.*
Aim. *Duh.*
Many new people complain about stuff like the BFG being too strong, shooting rockets down hallways constantly is cheap, but any good player can easily avoid any of those things.
And in order to even hit a good player, you have to outsmart him/her, taking shots carefully to draw your enemy into a corner with the plasma rifle, aiming your rockets carfully so your opponet dodges your other rocket right into it.
Besides, nothing takes more skill than a good old fasioned super shotgun duel.

First of all, CAPS LOCK + left and right strafes is not hard, it does not take skill, it takes ANY experience with ANY PC shooter.

THERE ISN'T EVEN AN Y-AXIS FOR THE AIM. Let alone a crosshair! It is simple as shit to hit anyone, anywhere with any gun. The only thing that could pose a challenge in some disabled children, is leading a rocket. Given the rocket splash is equal to that of the Hiroshima blast radius.

It takes more skill to tie my shoe strings than kill a person in Doom.
New before you respond, let me explain that Halo 2 has the same principles, the auto-aim makes hitting an opponent incredibly common, and the balance of the weapons don't match the gameplay. Whereas the community on Doom is almost non-existant, the community on Halo2 is full of immature children who had their mom wait outside to buy a copy, while they prepared for school in the morning.
In conclusion, Halo 1 is good, Halo 2 and Doom aren't.
Doom has a longer history than Halo, and it's a lot harder compared to Halo, I would rather get a Doom game than a Halo game. My favorite is Doom 3
