Nu-Metal/Metalcore Crew 2006-01-21 12:06:01

I've decided to take it upon myself to spearhead a crew for people that listen to Nu-Metal and/or Metalcore, people that would normally not be allowed into the Metal Hell crew. I'm not forming this crew to try and prove something to the fine people at Metal Hell and I'm not trying to stir shit...it would just simply be nice if there was a place for the quote-unquote 'non-tr00' metallers to hang out, without all of the ego and elitism. And yes, for the record, I am into Metalcore and some of the more tasteful Nu-Metal.

Mods who might see this as a Metal Hell rip-off, please don't lock this thread, because it isn't. Just like there are a bunch of different sig making crews, there should be enough room for a crew for people who can't get into Metal Hell.

Anywho, let's get started.

Post some of your favourite bands, pictures, tabs (especially any awesome breakdown 'chugga chugga' riffs you may have come up with =D), any projects you might currently be undertaking, etc.

Some of my favourite metalcore bands include:
-Dyscord
-Job For A Cowboy
-Between The Buried And Me
-Left Ablaze
-Burn For Me
-The Red Chord

And some non-metalcore bands which share some of the same properties:
-Dying Fetus (the breakdowns)
-Goratory (ditto)

May I join you Jarrydn?
I love Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, Unearth and Glassjaw.
Best performance ever seen: KsE at Graspop in Belgium!

Response to Nu-Metal/Metalcore Crew 2006-01-21 12:13:51

Yes. Yes you may friend :)

I'm actually a pretty big closet KSE fan. I've been helping a local band (http://www.myspace.com/dyscord) out with their debut EP, and their style is so similar to KSE that I just can't help but get into it :)

I listened to Mastodon because someone told me they were grind, but I didn't particularly enjoy it. Not my kind of metalcore.

Dude, that whole "tr00" thing is just one person: Duffeknol. The rest of us were fine with a metalcore fan in the 'hell. All the ego and elitism is just Duffeknol, man.

Here's a band I definitely reccomend you check out:

http://www.myspace.com/jobforacowboy

They pretty much blur the lines between death metal, grind and metalcore. Been one of my favourite bands over the past few months now :)

Response to Nu-Metal/Metalcore Crew 2006-01-22 02:17:02

i forgot caliban, heaven shall burn, mastodon, machine head, atreyu, bleeding through, and most precious blood. throw taproot's latest album in there too if they count as nu-metal.

Dillinger Escape Plan are fucking sick, obviously :)

Cannae are pretty good, I've spoken to one of the members verrrry briefly.

Ahhhh very nice. I'm pretty much exclusively an Ibanez user. I've got a Roadster, a Cimar Star and a DT-350 Destroyer. (I'm being a bit naughty though and ordering a Harley Benton 7 string tomorrow =) )

You stole that song from my friend Bulb. I believe it's called 'the letter experiment'.
