This week I was lucky enough to snag weekly first, and the song suddenly jumped 450 downloads... Until now I had seen absolutely no evidence of being able to multi download.

I mean, in like, a minute it jumped 450. i usually have a 1:6 ratio, for every 6 listens, one download, right now it's nearly 1:1. Clearly mass downloaded, but I was pretty sure that problem was removed.

is there a direct download link? I thought they had to end up on the page regardless? If so then the listen counter should have gone up anyways.

Hmmm, I donno about the "listens" aspect to the new audio portal. On my song heaven, like 80 listens are from me alone checking back to see if I got any new reviews or anything, so I donno. But It is handy I suppose, but it should tally a listen when you reach like halfway through the song, but that may be too technical. Who knows.

you DID know that if you view your adio submissions from your account page you can see new reviews and even who has favorited the song (or you for that matter). the only thing missing is a download counter...

and do you think NG should put into place leach prevention to prevent direct downloads from another site, if to save on the bandwidth in for nothing else (hint: link to CC license)

Actually, its very easy to get a direct link to the mp3. It is required in the source code of the player, so you just go to "view source" in firefox, and search for .mp3.
