Wow, this sounds really cool! How do I join?
Just post a link (JUST ONE) to the piece you want the judges to consider in this thread. For this round, it can be something you wrote years ago, or you can make it from scratch specifically for the competition. You can also change the piece you’d like us to judge by posting a new one before the deadline.

When’s the deadline?
You have until 23:59 (11:59 p.m.) Eastern Daylight Time on August 6, 2021 to enter the competition.

What happens after I submit my piece?
Immediately after the tryout submission phase, the participants will be grouped evenly based on their fan totals, and about half of them will be accepted into the next round. Participants won’t directly compete outside of their groups until the Final Round. There are 3 rounds over the course of about 2 months.

That’s 2 months of my life you’re talking about. What’s in it for me?
Prizes will include forum signatures for the top 3 finishers boasting of their success in the competition, as well as spots on the front page of the Audio Portal the week after the competition. You can also expect to improve your music, meet a ton of awesome people, and gain some more exposure on the site.

So who are the beautiful humans that make all this possible?
@ACXLE, @AlbeGian, @Ethansight, @Midimachine, @SkyeWint, @SplatterDash, @VocalOutburst, @VociferousMusic, and myself have joined the judging team so far. @Everratic has helped me out a lot with some administrative stuff. We’re also still looking for judges, so please PM me if you’d like to nominate one.

Also, @Decky makes the forum signatures for the winners, and @TomFulp runs the entire website and stuff.

What else do I need to know?
Honestly, you need to know way more things than can fit in just one forum post. PLEASE READ THE COMPLETE LIST OF RULES HERE. When in doubt, ask for clarification in this thread or via PM.

But above all, remember to have a ton of fun! The competition will begin...um...RIGHT NOW!

Hey I think you will really like this song: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1039302

Even if it doesn't make it I want you to see this song with your earballs. Thanks

This sounds like a fun competition! I'll submit something for the fun of it. Here's a song I created a couple of days ago. I'm moderately new to the genre but I believe it came out good.

Best of luck to everyone in the competition. May the best win!
