Building waste water usually all leads out of the same plumbing. Its super common for a toilet line to get plugged really far down the line because of flushing stuff that shouldn't have been flushed like wet wipes or feminine products. Once this clogs up and additional water or flushing will tend to make the water back up into the sinks.
