It's about that time, folks !!!

August happens to be my birthday month, and my birthday happens to be at the end of August (the 30th) and it also also just so happens that all I want for my birthday is to see some new art !!!

(and it just so happens I tend to commission NG artists quite frequently ?? [with some being WIPs atm!])

But, man, just viewing new art isn't enough?? MY HUNGER GROWS AND THE ONLY WAY TO SATIATE MY APPETITE FOR NEW ART IS TO INFLUENCE ITS PRODUCTION WITH A CONTEST !!!

- RULES

+ Draw one or more OCs (Original Characters) engaging in party activities.

• OCs do not have to be owned by you, but please request permission if you are not acquainted with their owner.
• "Party Activities" include, but are not limited to: punch bowl socials, movie nights, beer pong, karaoke with dragon girls, that swimsuit episode that happens in anime, Yu-Gi-Oh, ice cream socials, drawing on someone's face with permanent marker, forgetting how to dance but doing it anyway, the "Boogie Woogie", Silent Headphone Parties, Silent Hill Headphone Parties, or whatever you consider having a good time is.

+ Entries must be uploaded to the Newgrounds Art Portal via your profile.

• Include the tag "party-contest-2020" if you want me to kiss your forehead.

+ Multiple entries are permitted.

+ Comics are also permitted.

+ Art has to be of your own creation.

• Collaborations are permitted (and encouraged!) and will be referred to as one submission.

+ Your submission must be posted in this thread and uploaded to the Portal before the deadline.

- LIMITATIONS

+ No NSFW

+ No Nudity

+ No Explicit Drug Activity

• Suggestive use will be accepted, as long as it's considered "within good taste."

+ No Explicit Violence

• Keep the use of violence and gore to a responsible level.

- DEADLINE

+ Aug 28th, 11:59pm EST

+ Winners will be announced Aug 29th, 9:00pm EST during the NGP Block Party Discord event~!

• The Block Party is a Discord event hosted by @TheNewgroundsPodcast featuring music, art streams, party games, and movies-- all in the good name of Newgrounds!
• You do not have to be a member of the NGP Discord in order to win.
• Another announcement of the winners will be on the forums with full explanations on the next Saturday after the NGP Block Party (Sept. 5th)

- PRIZES

+ 1st: $300

+ 2nd: $200

+ 3rd: $100

+ Everyone who submits a qualified entry will be entered into a raffle to win a commission from me!

• Raffle does not include contestants that win a cash prize.
• Raffle is randomized and chosen Aug. 29th, 9:00pm EST during the NGP Block Party.
• One chance per user.

+ If you would like to donate in order to increase the prize pool to include more places, then please message me on here or via email at XinxinixArt(@)gmail.com.

• Donators will be able to vote on their favorite submissions to increase that contestant's chances of winning.

- JUDGING

+ Judging will be solely done by myself.

+ Creativity is the most important aspect for a submission; I will not lean towards specific styles or artists that I've become acquainted and/or familiar with.

• Creativity can be generalized as originality, thematic use of style, and intelligent use of the prompt.
• The more precise the idea is, the more I'm inclined to score it higher.

+ Bonus Points: there are a few things that will grant you a higher score if included in a clever way.

• Multiple OCs
• Backgrounds
• Summer Themes
• Dialogue/Comics
• Your Own OC
• Fun Atmosphere
• Good Fashion Design

+ Negative Points: there's really only one way to lose points.

• Using Non-Original Characters

And I believe that is everything!!

I judge purely on creativity, so it doesnt matter how great at art you are, just that your idea is refined and exceptional compared to others.

Someone with 10 years experience versus a newbie artist could lose because their idea falls flat comparatively.

I say give it a shot if you ever find yourself motived to!
