Trouble with ASCII art thumbnails

Hello! We've just joined NG and are wondering what we could be doing to help our animations' thumbnails show up properly. At the moment, they're coming up SUPER dark, which doesn't exactly make for an enticing image haha.

Any advice on how to make our thumbnails better pop? All of our stuff is ASCII-animated, so it's largely black backgrounds with white lines. Not sure how to better improve the contrast or brighten things up without sacrificing the animation's quality.

The thumbnail tool will anti-alias whatever you give it, so your fine black-and-white images will become blurry. It’s awkward for pixel artworks.

Try capturing a smaller part of your image, like the boatman or the sacrifice, rather than the entire thing. You might need to tinker it a few times until it looks ok.

Still a bit blurry, but that works so much better! Thanks for the advice.
