Just wanted to drop by this post and say thanks! I'm trying to get everything set up on other websites, and Newgrounds was the first one I came to. I really like how you can just pretty much throw your game onto the website and it works.

I knew Tumblr was on its last leg, but I didn't expect them to go this far.

Hey, @TomFulp

In the resources page of the site where there are wallpapers and NG Flash Buttons and all that, can we get it updated at some point with the snazzy new logos? I wanna put a little logo on my business cards and anything else.

The warm welcomes are greatly appreciated! A pity about Tumblr, but it's their ship to sink at this point. I'm hopeful for Newgrounds though, especially with its creator-focused community, so here's to many days/weeks/months/years/etc to uploading new art to here!

Not really. I mean, the portal has tons of new porn animations but still, I don't think anything majorly bad will happen to the site.

I know that completed works are more valuable to show off, but I think having some kind of tab or filter or something for sketches in the art portal could go a long way for activity here.

Adding a tab or filter could be a good idea.

Yeah, I wish I could be able to submit my sketches too. Sketches, and sequences. :y Fingers crossed for a bright future to NG!!

Keep doing what you do, and you will find lots of success.

As a person who has been an active lurker on the site for years now, and been annoying all my friends to comeback, I'm glad they have the reason to come back to Newgrounds. The only true reason to come back. The porn! Oh that and all the brand new undiscovered artist, Animators, musicians and game designers trying to make a name for themselves, but mostly the porn.

I kid, welcome aboard refugees, I'm interested on how the site dynamic of the Old guard, the returning faction, and the new blood is going to effect the site. But a positive growth is always good, I just hope you guys stick around!

Been intending to do this, it's way overdue now. The FLA resources probably aren't even needed by anyone anymore, either.

I hope this is wave of new artists and users may help to start newgrounds to possibly competing with Youtube one day or at least be noticed as a platform for artists more so than it is known now.

I would love to see a more creator focused site finally give some traction than the ones we have now that want to please the ad gods more than their usersbase that eventually end up driving them away..case and point tumblr XD

It's a concern but so far people seem to get how it works around here. Anything that brings a lot of traffic to the site will inevitably bring new problems with it but we'll hope for the best!

At least the scouting system and the unscouted gallery keep the unfiltered filth away from the main public, that's a huge pro. And apparently anyone can be a Scout and go searching that gallery for anything cherishable or reprehensible :}

A comics portal would be a little much. NG seems to have some features like playlists and what-not that will allow multi-image submissions to be organized in a satisfying way. What's important is the cap for multi-images to be relatively sizable (many people shun Twitter's 4-image limit and adore Pixiv allowing just about any number images in one submission) The important is to find a cap that will satisfy the userbase and that the site can handle.

One of Tumblr's strengths was in how many different forms of media could be hosted on it, making it an essential one-stop-shop for most creative media. Newgrounds could easily achieve this

I agree. I find it very important to add a writing portal once the art portal has been properly upgraded. By the way, playlists would cover the necessities for multi-chapter writing you touched upon

Favorites, comments, and ratings from the people you follow on the user's front page.

Now, personally, that is the one thing I hate about Twitter. If you're not trending it at least dishing out content regularly, you're essentially a ghost. Your one only hope is for a famous artist with an already hefty following to like, retweet and/or comment on your stuff just to make people LOOK at you.
There's already a small window with favorite arts in everyone's userpage, and I'd hope to call that sufficient. I sincerely hope that Newgrounds has better ways to allow an artist to gain traction.

Unlike Twitter at least in here you can dig around for old and/or obscure stuff and actually HOPE to find it. "Sauce Pls", anyone?

Playlists have a lot more potential than how they are being used currently. My current thoughts are that a playlist should be visually laid out differently based on whether it's mixed media or all one type of media. So a playlist that is all art, for example, could default to a gallery grid layout or have the option to scroll through the full pieces.

The playlist is essentially three things in one; a playlist, an album and a folder. A lot just depends on the context of how it's presented to people.

When we overhauled user pages this year, one of the to-do list items was to let you drop in a playlist on your user page and have the list be fully visible vs being just a link to the playlist. This could be how artists highlight their best art, animations, etc..

Regarding multi-image posting, we have some other plans there that will hopefully accommodate well.

Oh! Oh! @TomFulp !!
Maybe an option to let us choose what format a playlist (mixed or otherwise) defaults to? Is that a thing? Can it be a thing??

Not a thing yet but hopefully will be. A bunch of other features are ahead in priority but getting playlists right will knock a few different items off the request-lists.

There are private messages for that, the artist just needs to configure their account to receive private messages from anyone. Only thing NG doesn't accommodate are the classic anon asks.
While anonymity allowed artists to receive asks from fans who didn't have an account, around here it could be more dangerous. That might require linking to some outside survey service that allows for anonymous contribution.

It's no big deal, it just means your stuff is archived in the unscouted page. Just keep 'em coming until someone like what they see.
On the page of an artwork, users who are scouted artists can see an option to the left (further down on phone) to scout an artist. If they feel compelled, they'll click it and you'll receive a message you can follow. After you're scouted your art will show in the main page of the art portal.
