Newgrounds is the best place for everything related to art :D
Long live Newgrounds
I'm thankful to the way NG seems to have opened their arms to us, especially the sassy Twitter posts on the matter!
Looking forwards to sharing my nsfw contributions here! (Once I wrap my head around scouting...).

I'd really like to see and option to combine your art into separate folders or categories because my mix of traditional inkwork, digital NSFW art and digital innocent sci-fi/fantasy stuff makes my gallery look annoyingly eclectic and inconsistent.
Also, an option to upload multiple images in one entry for comics and pieces with alt versions.

I made an account here nearly four years ago, but don't let that fool you. I haven't touched this account since until yesterday. Since Tumblr is going the way it is I think I should actually use my Newgrounds account and see what I can do with it. Hopefully, this is a good idea.

Hey all, come read my short handbook on everything NG!
It'll have all you need to know to get started here!

Been lurking in and out of here since back when Stamper was active. Made a new account since it's been too long . I heard about the resurgence from some friends who migrated here from tumblr. Thanks for all your hard work NG and welcome people both new and old. Also, hi Chapman Bros.

I'm really worried about how well people will respond to this with NG's servers being so bogged down by it right now.
They're gonna think it doesn't have the steam to handle so much traffic, which...I hope is not the case. lol
Every other time I try to get on here I'm getting "504 Bad Gateway" errors, I assume due to the traffic & everything.
Gotta say, tumblr dropping the ball is making this a really exciting time. :b

With the influx of new artists, NG may have a reason to refine how the Art Portal works with features like that.
I hope that sort of thing, plus maybe the option of displaying artwork differently like, with a title or smaller icons, more per page, etc, start getting considered... but at least there's the rating sorting options to use for now. Nobody has to see the M & A stuff unless they want.

Hello!! I have had a newgrounds account before, but never really used it too much. I'll be moving some of my art over here too!
If im allowed to ask questions here, Im curious about the scouting system. If I post art here, how are people going to see it if it isnt in the Art portal? Is getting scouted an easy process, or is it more exclusive to super experienced artists?
Also, what is the best way to gain an audience here?
Sorry if this was asked already, ive already seen a few new members are kind of thrown off by the system!

I've had an account here for a while but never used it, not even to favorite things, I think... Now I'm posting art here and such and I, like others, are curious about the scout stuff.
I've already had someone do it but I have no idea what it means or anything. lmao
Thank you for being an open space for us artists <3

If no one sees my art how does it eventually get scouted by someone? lol

I'd enjoy some features that'd really improve an experience from someone who commissions art:
1. An option to upload art that has been commissioned by the user with full crediting to the original artist, so the site can still effectively be used as an image gallery to quickly link to without disparaging content creators with art theft or lack of attributing.
2. A better, well versed commissioning section of the art portal. Dedicated pricing, customer rating systems, authentication, etc. No 'Pay in Exposure'. This will ensure that artists can post commission rates and commissioners can easily find artists to pay.
3. More tags per picture. Four is just simply not enough.
4. A moderated Collaboration portal. A lot of the ads seem illicit at times, but that may just be me.

I feel like a child again with all this love and making NG servers collapsing from all the new content. Glad to welcome all of you creators as I have always admired artists a lot since I can´t even draw a stick figure straight. In what I can I would try to comment and give reviews in the art section and in general all the others sections again since in the past I have been kind of distant from normally commenting since I thought my opinion was kind of boring but I think now at least it can be kind of better( I hope). So yeah glad too see so many happy souls and hoping that NG can be a new home to you all.
Apart from this a thing I have been thinking is that with so many new artists,we need as many had said new tag systems and all but another cool thing could be a subsection in each section where there is content from all the new users in a way it doesn´t feel oversatured, like for example putting just one piece of art/music/etc or maybe even just the names so that other users can check them out, I have been thinking this because with the new wave of art it is possible to miss someone with so many images.

Thank you guys for being so nice! I already hit the 10 upload limit and I'm just holding tabs open to start again tomorrow XD
It really is so super nostalgic being here again! A lot has changed, but the good parts have stayed the same it seems. NG might just be my favorite new place ^^

One of the first things that springs to mind for a lot of people when you say "Newgrounds" is meet and fuck games, so I think we should be good.

Cool, but keep in mind that you guys are migrating here, and Newgrounds is ultimately our community that you are becoming a part of, and not the other way around. It's not going to be a case of us rebuilding the entire site to fit what Tumblr users want.
Multiple images in a single art post.
Being limited to only one image per post seems very restricting compared to how Tumblr, Twitter, and most other image hosting platforms like Instagram allow for it.
Newgrounds at its core isn't just an image hosting platform. If you want to upload sketches and progress art, there are ways to do that; Use your dumping grounds and list it in the final pieces description. Multiple images per post would get messy incredibly quickly and could lead to confusion with a lot of people due to how submissions are displayed on Newgrounds. I can maybe understand the multiple images in one post thing being allowed specifically for comics, but for all kinds of images? I'm not a fan.
Two new portals: one for comics, and one for creative writing.
Writing portal I agree with - This is something a lot of Newgrounds users have wanted for a very long time but it has never really become a thing. We have a writing forum, but a portal would be super nice to finally get out of this. Comics are a form of artwork however, and they belong in the art portal.
One of Tumblr's strengths was in how many different forms of media could be hosted on it, making it an essential one-stop-shop for most creative media. Newgrounds could easily achieve this, and I think adding a comics portal and a writing portal could be the key.
We have a portal for art, animation/movies, games, and audio. I'd say we cover all bases pretty well. The only thing we're really lacking is the aforementioned writing portal. Comics are a form of art, and giving them their own portal seems highly unnecessary to me. A category I can understand, but a portal is excessive.
As for the creative writing portal, I think a similar archive and parent-child post system would be great for hosting stories and their individual chapters, respectively. A simple interface for writing and viewing text posts, or even importing word files, would be a nice start for this portal. From there, we can see what other features writers will want.
This could be interesting.
Favorites, comments, and ratings from the people you follow on the user's front page.
I don't mind this idea. Ratings I don't think should be included in this, as it could encourage gang-blamming which is not something I can imagine anyone here wants to encourage. Comments I can maybe understand, and favourites is definitely something I can understand.
Another one of Twitter and Tumblr's nicer functionalities is that users can promote the works of others, and have it be immediately viewable to their followers in their feeds..
So essentially the same as the thing above, gotcha'.
That's all I've got for now, but I hope this is useful. I'd love to see Newgrounds become a new hot-spot for all things media, and get closer to realizing its motto of "Everything by Everyone". It's good to be back.
It's nice to see your input, welcome back to Newgrounds.

Also, being able to see the full resolution images rather than tumblr's compressed "1280" bullshit is fucking awesome. Seriously, removing raw images just this year was the big nail in that coffin....which was already full of nails.
So yeah, Newgrounds is BACK baby!!
Welcome back old friend.

This place looks ten times better then deviant art ever did. I only ever heard of this place in videos talking about YouTube animation community and decided with all the stuff going on with tumblr to see if the sight had grown any since then. very glad it did. Also THERE IS SPELL CHECK which i desperately need.
i think im gona like it here
