Advanced Rating System?

I think there needs to be a more advanced rating system on NG. Not just Nudity, Violence Explicit Audio, Explicit Text, Adult themes. There need to be more.

I have some ideas:

Drug Content
Scary Images
Scary Audio

And I don't really know if they should add a rating system to the audio portal. Since most songs don't have lyrics. But there could be some foul language in some songs. But I don't think we'll need one for the audio portal.

Those are some ideas. Do you guys have any ideas?

Scary? I haven't seen scary on here ever, except back in the day when Exorcist pop ups where around. I have seen one of those maybe a year ago and they removed it.

Don't all of these fall under "adult themes", a criterion for M and A content? Maybe if you're not logged in (since there's a possibility you're a kid) it wouldn't auto-play general content so the warnings would always show when you clicked into a submission.

The rating system is as simple as it can be. Let's not make it any more complex then it should be.

But you could make a little: ADVANCED button and it pops up more ratings. And you could add "Other" to the five we already have.

i think it would be nice to add on to the ratings system. i also think that the audio portal REALLY needs one.

How about options to hide certain categories, tags and so on. The Steam store does this and it's awesome. But I'm not sure if it's really necessary for Newgrounds.

I guess the good thing for the rating system as it is now is that it is very clear and easy to work with, making it "advanced" could be bad. And also, what exactaly would be "scary"? Sure, some stuff is clearly scary, but other stuff is more subjective.

But I think you have a point about the Audio Portal. I mean, there shouldn't be a E/T/M/A rating, but rather something telling whether the song contains explicit lyrics or not. There could be a tickbox that the creator marks if their song contains explicit lyrics. Then if they do the song would have a EXPLICIT thing by the side, just like in Spotify or Apple Music.

And also when they rate something it should say below what it's rated for. It should tell us that.
