Okay, I'm trying to produce music on my computer because music production has been a dream of mine for a long time. Problem being, my computer uses Debian as the operating system, and I can't find a single freaking DAW that I can just easily download for Debian. Does anyone know of a free DAW that runs on Debian that I can download and use, and do you happen to have a download link? It's ok if you don't have a download link, it just makes things a bit easier. I've tried Non, by the way, and I can't find anywhere that I can download it for Debian. I really need some help because I'm extremely frustrated and I have no clue whatsoever what I'm doing.

I can't. The computer I'm using doesn't do that. Ever heard of the Raspberry Pi?

Yes sir. We run a RPI in the living room. However, I don't think there is a DAW for it.

Honestly, you might just need to build yourself a PC

Idk how to do that. Also, I have very little money so I can't even buy myself a computer.

Programs can be compiled (essentially converting from the code written in a human-readable programming language to something the computer can understand) for multiple hardware architectures. This architecture is based around what kind of processor the computer you will be using it on uses. Most desktop computers and laptops us x86-based processors, built by AMD of Intel, but the raspberry pi is based on an ARM chip.

Long story short, a build is the result of converting code to files that can be run on a given architecture, so a build for rpi will be compiled in a way that an ARM processor can understand.

Why not just switch out Debian with Linux? I know of a couple of DAW's that would work on a rpi with linux. I think NON might even work on Debian, but it's a bit difficult to install if you're not used to it.

I don't know how to switch the operating system. Also, I've heard of Non, but it doesn't appear that there's a way to download it.

I'll have to figure out how to do that.

Linux is a "kernel", it's not an operating system in itself. Debian is an operating system built on the Linux kernel. So an rpi running Debian is already running Linux.

Googling around a bit, I see requests for an ARM Debian build in forums, but haven't encountered links to any.

Edit: actually there's a version in the "SunVox for Windows, macOS, Linux and Windows CE" download on their download page, sitting in sunvox-1.9.3b.zip/sunvox/sunvox/linux_arm_armhf_raspberry_pi. Interesting they bundle all builds up into one download.

Raspbian isn't like vanilla Debian versions, if the package wasn't built for ARM it will not work.

Can you link the Rpi build for it? I can't seem to be able to find it.
