EARTH HISTORY PART I 2400 - 2690 AD
Human development has been a rather messy one. Populations kept expanding. Corporations turned into mega corporations. The rich got filthy rich while everyone else was left to scrabble around on the bottom of the food chain. The rise and complete takeover of automated systems certainly didn't help.
Mars and certain large asteroids were eventually colonised, but that didn't help anything. A large expedition was sent out to Proxima Centauri, but was never heard of again so motivations for space exploration was going to shits. Resources were running out fast and things only got worse.
So, it's no surprise, then, that around the year 2400 a devastating war broke out.
Nobody knows what exactly started the war because all records and most of civilization was destroyed in this war. This war lasted for approximately 100 years, ending in around 2510 simply because there were no more nations or corporations to fight for.
Earth was a scorched ball of crap and all the other colonies in the Sol system died out slowly due to being completely cut off from Earth. The population of Humans went from around 20 billion to just 1 billion.
A veteran soldier named Howard Crowe became the first president of Earth after he made it his life work to rebuild some semblance of civilization. Raiders that scouted the wastelands were reformed. Old prewar technology was unearthed. Agriculture centres were set up and soon these centres turned into small towns. People started to believe again. Moreover they started to believe in Howard Crowe.
A provisional government was set up. This eventually turned into an actual government when policies were agreed upon. Eventually Howard got voted into being president.
This went fine for around 150 years. Mars got recolonized and repurposed into an industrial machine. This was Project GreyMars. Earth got turned into an agricultural machine, regaining its greenery. Many species of animals that were thought to have gone extinct during the war and the over industrialization before the war were making a comeback. Eventually the antimatter hyperdrive was invented, allowing Humans to travel at 80% the speed of light and the will to colonize Proxima Centauri was rekindled.
First Contact happened around Proxima Centauri with the Craal around 2660. That same year the Craal invaded Earth and enslaved the Human race.
The Craal, though not looking a lot like Humans, had a history that closely mirrored that of Earth. Though instead turning their home world into a scorched ball, a totalitarian government actually won the war that broke out and took control of the entire planet's and solar system's resources.
These resources were poured into the development of weapons, propulsion systems and defences. While the Humans on Earth were rebuilding their broken civilization, the Craal on Cralelarc were building a star fleet. Once that was done, they started expanding their borders, colonizing any planet or rock that had valuable resources. In this time of expansion, they came head to head with the Goridians and the Kramaak, both who only just reached space travel stages (though the Kramaak already had FTL capabilities due to their early discovery of subspace).
Bloody war broke out on two different fronts for the Craal, who were determined to bring them to their knees.
Despite that the Goridians and the Kramaak didn't know of each other or ever actually met during this conflict, the Craal found that they were a match and wasted a lot of resources on their battlefronts.
There was also a lot of political unrest and rebel cells started to form on the Craal home world due to the population being overworked for the war effort. The Craal needed slaves, but they couldn't turn to their own population for slaves. As luck would have it, they found an alien colony ship orbiting a planet around a star these aliens called Proxima Centauri.
These aliens called themselves Humans and were more than willing to show their home world to the Craal. The Craal saw that Humans had almost no defensive technology, at least none that rivalled their own, so they invaded Earth.
The Craal occupation of the Sol System didn't last very long. The Craal underestimated the resourcefulness of the Humans and the strength of the rebel cells within their own ranks. Not only that, the Humans had secret guardians watching over them that were masters at stealth and sabotage and had technology thousands of years more advanced than the Craal had ever seen.
3 years after the occupation the Humans managed to win back the Sol System from the Craal. The Craal battlefronts against the Kramaak and the Goridians were utterly crushed and the government on Cralelarc was overthrown by rebels.
What was meant to be the Craal Empire disappeared within a week and they melted from the stars.
The Humans didn't have a lot of rebuilding to do. Despite the occupation, the Craal made sure not a lot of damage was done to the available resources and technology of the Humans.
It wasn't long before the Humans managed to reverse engineer Craal technology witch led to the discovery of subspace and witch later again led to the discovery of one dimensional energy (a category of energy that exists ONLY as a wave and never as a particle).
Around 2675 the warp drive was invented. It made use of E-1, also known as "Plasma-Force", a one dimensional energy discovered by super heating a plasma till sub atomic particles can no longer retain their structure. The first warp drive could travel at Warp 0.5, or 50 times the speed of light.
With the Human civilization booming after the discovery of Plasma-Force as a new, clean and seemingly infinite energy source, a new and ambitious project was created. The Sol Explorer Initiative, its objective was to build modular FTL exploration craft capable of holding a crew of 8 to explore the surrounding stars. The Earth Defence Force, which was a military organization that handled any potential threats after the Craal invasion, was reformed along with the other Human colonies into the Human Space Federation. It had multiple branches including military, colony affairs and exploration.
Around 2690 the first three SEI modular explorers were ready and sent out to the depths of space.
