Okay, now that I've had a chance to catch up to the site and look it over, I have a few comments to make.
Overall, a step in the right direction. I do miss the iconic tank in the header, maybe just a bit too minimalist for my liking.
The page redesigns gave my current stat-scraping tools digital constipation, and I'm in the process of recoding the data markers on all the pages. Generally, I have everything I need - medals got shifted around, and the main page has all the stats - but some things have dropped off and I can't seem to find them:
a) We used to have individual favorite counts by type (audio, art, movies, games) - all we get now is a total, which if it's greater than 1000, starts rounding to "K"
b) The post count is displayed, but also rounded (why can't we see the actual number?)
c) Where is the art scout count?
d) Did we lose the icon aura (like programmer, writer, audiophile, etc.)?
It's really nice that you put more stats on the user page, but I still have to scrape 6 pages to gather all of the counts for reviews and responses as well as medal totals.
If I could make a few requests:
1) Would it be possible to add another pod on the user page to show the details for reviews, responses and favorite counts for all 4 categories (audio, art, movies, games)?
2) Display the medal game count/medal points under the "Whistle" area (you just have the medals, not the other two fields).
3) In the stat count bar, could you add "scouts" and show all numbers as-is, instead of rounding to K?
With these minor modifications to the main user page, the stat puller will only need to read ONE page per user instead of 6, which will greatly reduce the run time on stat pulls and the page hits on Newgrounds. More importantly, it will let every user see all their true summary counts on one page.
I figure that while you're working out the kinks, you might be able to toss in a few extra data fields on the user page - please?
Generally, I think it's a good update, and a big step forward in making Newgrounds better and more fun. Keep up the great work!
Cheers,
Anne
