As usual this is a thread where I encourage Challenge of the month participants to share ideas and WIP's!

This month's DWJ Challenge of the Month is "Epic Arty Party". Specifically, entrants are to:

Create an illustration (Traditional OR Digital - 2D ONLY, no 3D modelling) depicting an EPIC arty party - specifically, an event involving creativity and art and lots of people, with a jubilant atmosphere, at a grand scale.

PLEASE NOTE: The core aspects being judged are as follows:

1 - The effective portrayal of an epic artistic party

2 - Quality of art (effective technical execution)

3 - Creativity of entry and ambition/scope of piece

HOW TO ENTER:

Upload your finished artwork to the Newgrounds.com Art Portal

TO ENTER THE OPEN CATEGORY:
TAG your artwork with the word 'EpicArtyParty'
(That’s it! Scouted or unscouted, I will find your entry,
as long as you tag it with the exact word above)

TO ENTER THE BEGINNER CATEGORY:
TAG your artwork with the word 'B-EpicArtyParty'

OPTIONAL: Share your entry on social media using the Hashtag #EpicArtyParty

This is a worldwide competition - join the Arty Party, wherever you are, and whatever age you may be!

RULES:

- You may submit a maximum of 1 entry
- You may NOT enter both categories (open/beginner)
- You MUST include a link in the description of your final submission leading to a 'mid-development' source (image or video) showing the entry is your original creation
- No pornographic material of any kind, violence must be PG13 and not too gruesome
- Your piece MUST be tagged correctly and be submitted by the deadline
- You may not submit a piece using stolen artwork or imagery

Ok, this is what I got now, a good idea. But I'm also concidering doing with watercolors?

Sooo decided to go with a roller disco party :p

But, not just a roller disco... they are skating on the worlds largest wacom intuous and each roller skate is a pen. the screen on the back wil be what the drawing they made

How do you guys like the concept? should i "roll with it"? hehehe... (i'm sorry)

my other idea was that their roller skates were actual brushes, with paint

I like the idea. I am working on a similar one, though a more modern twist. Where the individuals are part of the creative process of the party en mass. (I can share progress later as right now it is still too rough.) I say keep with the idea and looks good so far!

Yeah, that idea is cool and original, but add more people, so it would look like a party

Here's my idea. A party thrown by art supplies. They will be dancing(painting or drawing) all over the dance floor and making art on the walls. The thing in the corner is a pinata that i want to make look like Jazza surrounded by little pieces of chalk. I don't know why I'm making the children pieces of chalk but for some reason that made sense to me. Any input?

This is my idea that im working with. I made my version of the spirit of art dancing with ideas (butterflies). Just a rought scetch. Ill pilish it up on my laptop. Im really liking the position of my character :3

So heres my WIP. The plan is to have Deadpool painting a load of people creating chaos with art equipment at the party. Not to sure how good its going to be because I'm currently doing my final piece for my a level fine art course at the same time :) what do you think of the idea guys?

OMG I LOVE the idea!!!!

I don't usually show people my WIP's and this is my first COTM I've entered but I want to start putting my art out there.
So, this is the concept I'm going with, so far it's just a general layout of where I may want things and just begining to form the idea more strongly from my head. Some of the sizing is still off but that I'm going to focus on when it's digitalized.
When I originally heard 'arty party' the first thing that came to mind was a whole bunch of kids drawing on one very big paper/canvas.
So that's what I've decided to run with. It's a whole bunch of kids collabing with eachother in one epic piece of art. (With the babysitter sitting on the couch more entranced with her phone and tv then the kids)

I'm hoping this follows the guidelines, I do have a question though:
How can you tell what category you fall under? I.e., beginner, open, Scouted or unscouted

Hey, guys, I came up w/ a little surprise for Jazza. Personally, I have improved immensely largely due to his videos. I am quite young, and many would say I am a bit advanced compared to my peers. For those of you who have also benefited from Jazza's work, I was thinking that we could have some sort of message within our drawings. For example, in mine, I am drawing a large crowd in the backgrounds, so I am planning to have a small area in my canvas of myself cheering Jazza on; hopefully to show my gratitude. I was thinking that if we could all have something like this, we could...inspire Jazza or something. I know it's kind of a big deal to include something like that in your image, especially if you're not showing some sort of large crowd... Just an Idea.

That's pretty cool, i'm doing something kinda similar where i'm having a bunch of famous art pieces at a party dedicated to celebrating Jazza hit the 1 mil. mark! I plan on adding pieces from Picasso Davinci and the Newgrounds mascot as well

Welp here's my base for the challenge of the month. Ideas and criticism are welcome.

MadelineJackson: She came up with this cute concept of expressing gratitude to Jazza through our submissions. This is me sayin that I'm on board and I'm pretty sure all of you were already planning on it anyway, but still, if you read this I encourage you to incorporate this idea into your piece. :)

Yup, I'm doing a large crowd, and I'm also really young that is ''higher skilled'' in art school. Love the idea, so in the forground I'm drawing myself on a bench as joining the Arty Party.

with mine, i'm having it so it's the main character's (the one who's jumping) birthday, and she's invited all of her arty friends to a pool/art party. everyone draws something on the wall then jumps off a diving board.

(i'm also adding a message to jazza somewhere on there to)

This is my first time participating in the challenge, Well I started the january one but I couldn't complete my drawing by the dead line.
This is what I've done so far, It's just the sketch and some dirty lines but I think it's getting form. I wanted to draw an outside party with some pleople painting graffitis on the Wall and the rest of them creating different kinds of art, all surrounded by a very vivid and warm atmosphere.
What do you guys think???

what makes a lit art party? giant art supplies duh.

This is also my first art competition. I am 22 so quite old so feel my art should be better than this but i did this piece in two days and i don't know if i like it anymore and should continue with it to submit for the COTM.. thoughts and feedback highly welcome :]

By the way I have changed this drastically because it is terrible in my opinion. lol. There is now a trash bin in the corner and the design has improved :D.
