Been a long time since I kept an art thread going, here goes nothing.

I'm really trying to develop characters and environments that I can use in animations. Definitely looking for critique if you've got any. Anyways, here's a robot I'm working on .

Thanks dude. Yeah the design is going to have to be simplified for animation purposes. I'll see what I can snip off then.

The main thing I noticed with the robot is it's lacking a clear sense of depth in a few areas - mainly the torso. I'm not sure how far apart his upper chest and hips are, and I'm not sure if he's hunched over with his chest and arms in front of his legs and hips or if he just has a small torso and is standing upright.

Yeah I made the mistake of not nailing down my gesture/bones before adding detail. Definitely regret that.

I've still been working the robot, along with a couple other drawings, but I don't have the heart to starting painting over large details again to correct the errors. Thanks for the tips though dude, I'll keep that in mind for future characters.

Also here's where the forest BG stands right now: http://imgur.com/a/Tc5CG

I'm probably gonna work on both of em today

Edit: Looking at it now I think the problem is that the torso disk thing needs to be tilted upwards with the wire-y mass part of his torso, right now they are facing contradictory directions. I've redone that disk so many times I think maybe I can muster once more.

This is a bit too short for me to submit to the portal I think. But its something I was working on for a while that I recently finished for the Loop de Loop challenge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veXd4cf_ucI

I decided to take your advice and attempted to straighten that area out. Looks much better, thanks!

Chilly you changed your icon, I almost didn't recognize you there. </3
These are all looking pretty nice though, they're so dynamic and animated (especially on the second-to-last one).

Haha yeah I decided to freshen things up a bit with the new icon. Thanks dude, that's totally what I'm going for in my work. Though Im trying to push harder in the dynamic direction cause I keep slipping up and doing boring poses.

Anyways here's a grumpy penguin

The theme for the loop challenge Im doing is Chicken. I wanted to do a mafia style chickens with arms gag. The eggs are the "drugs" of course and the leader is a 'lil cute yellow chick with the most shredded arms of them all.

Anyways, I had a pretty slow last couple days I mustered some doodles today
