We're not going to disqualify you because of this. The length rule is mostly just a guideline because pieces that are really long tend to be either way too repetitive or incoherent and directionless. However, if you feel like you've made a piece that is both structurally succinct and sufficiently varied, you're more than welcome to submit a piece that's over 8 minutes long. ;)

Here's my submission. It's the longest song from my project band Sky Temple's first EP "ANNWN".

It's a heavy, progressive, instrumental rock tune in a segmented format. It has many influences in it including English, Irish and Norse Folklore. I was also inspired by bands like Opeth, Porcupine Tree and Gojira.
