Thanks. I am also really happy, how it turned out.
It is acrylics on a 30x30cm canvas.

I do see why some people are against the "traditional-only" rule. Well, I'm okay with this rule, and besides, it doesn't happen very often (in fact, I think this is the first time I've seen a traditional COTM since I first entered NG). Since it is a "once in a blue moon" thing, well, why not? :D

I will not imply that digital painting is "easier", but when it comes to workflow and efficiency, digital art is much better in the sense that you have all the tools you need in a single piece of software, not having to worry about things like paint drying/curing time, paper warping, using up materials, and so on. Also, in digital painting, you can "Undo", "Redo" and use the eraser tool without leaving residue which you have to clean up. Paint insta-dries and insta-cures (lol). No need to stretch, prime or gesso the canvas, just press CTRL+N, fiddle with a bunch of settings and you're ready to go! You can also use "Layers" (some proprietary software don't have this feature). Sadly, none of those things exist for a traditional artist. Also, traditional artists also have to spend quite a bit of time documenting or scanning their works.

In a way, digital artists have a slight "unfair advantage" over traditional artists, mainly when it comes to how much time and effort you can spend on a piece. That's why a lot of folks are sayin' that this is their time to shine, because the playing field has been leveled out nicely for them (for us, rather).

I'm definitely joining this contest, mainly for fun! Seasons is one of my favorite topics, and I'm probably going to infuse a little bit of fantasy and magic into my entry.

Good luck with the rest of the entrants!

Thank you for your comments Kanade-Chizuru you put this in a much more positive way than I did and you are right, it is only the first time he has had a traditional only and some of the pieces that are so far being showcased are fantastic. Thanks again for your positive spin on the digital only issue and good luck

THEME:
Using a TRADITIONAL medium of your choice, create an illustration or painting depicting a PERSONIFIED SEASON (one of the four seasons in human form), within the landscape/environment of a DIFFERENT SEASON.

Hi Jazza and guys...

does my WIP fit in the Theme? Or is it suposed to be an actual Human? In the COTM Vid Jazza said something about Nymphstyle what isnt exactly human... so i decided (Mostly cuz i am not capable to draw humans XD) to make a humanoid form...

Hope i can recieve an answear.
Thanks for your attention.

Comping everything together and gathering reference photos in Manga Studio. Once the colors and composition is finalized, will transfer to a wood panel and paint with acrylic inks and pens.

This is amazing! I love the idea of Winter riding a polar bear xD
The only advice I can give you is to just keep going the way you already do. Good luck!
