It is quite incredible how some stories stick to you. I read this in 2004 when I was only 12 years old, and his story has scarred me in such a way that I have recalled it many times throughout the years. Poor bastard. I cannot even begin to imagine how hellish those 3 days may have been for him. If only he wasn't so inconsequential when drunk he could still be posting and submitting works for us all.

Rest In Peace

Reading that letter really put me in his shoes man, just some fucked up luck. All because of some dumb, drunk bastard.

(But on a side note, big white men rape in prison too..)

I was worried making a bump like this might be a bad idea, but hell... There's already been a four year bump and nobody seems to mind. Plus this is in the News section, and I'm pay respects to a member of our community, so here goes...

I'm not really sure what to say about this. I'd heard LC's name mentioned before when people were talking about dead Newgrounds users, but never heard this story until now. I'd also, despite visiting his profile, never noticed just how much he had contributed to the site.

I'm glad Tom posted this, because I think it's important that we realize that the invisible barrier we pass in situations like these is completely imaginary. Our labels of integrity, morality, and humanity have a function, but all too often we use those labels to hurt ourselves and to hurt others, as demonstrated here. Adam isn't a 'hero' or a 'monster' or anything, really. He just is (or was, I guess).

More recently I've been thinking about the fact that in eventuality, this is where all of us are going. We like reading stories and watching movies about peril because it fills our ideas of death predominantly with murders, suicides, and freak accidents. We like to forget about the fact that even if none of those improbabilities happen, we're still going to die anyway. I suppose that in a sense, Adam's death really doesn't matter because of that. It was only an earlier occurrence of what we already knew was going to happen. Even so, I find myself transfixed with these letters just as much as anyone else here reading this.

If I offer to help you in a post, PM me to get it. I often forget to revisit threads.

He should have just socked the guy in the face, not acted like a dumb ass. Im not going to say he deserved it, but that didn't need to take place. Even though I didn't know the guy, whatever afterlife he is in. I hope he lives well. RIP.

It's been ten years. Recent events with my family have brought this back to thought... Ten years and I still miss Adam. But as we may only hold him as a memory for most, his legacy will never be forgotten

Oh, no! That's terrible. You will be missed. RIP.

Words are cheap and if society didn't value words of individuals differently and used lie detectors in courtrooms to prove a person's testimony to be true then this wouldn't have happened. Honesty can't be judged by looking at the way a person lives or acts. Even mental stability can't be a definite determiner of that. If you look at George Washington who cut down a cherry tree and didn't lie about it you can see that if a person did do wrong that it doesn't mean their word shouldn't be believed above some1 else. After all how many ppl live a honorable life and lie? Sure there may not be many but that just proves the point that the words of a criminal or accused shouldn't have less merit than those held in high regards. This line of thinking should be abolished from society with petitions. After all livecorpse did say and i quote "it was his word against mine". I feel sorry for him but this could be prevented by having any and all court testimonies monitered by a lie detector. I know a rant is the last thing anybody wants to hear on this thread but i feel that the idea of judging the honesty of a person's word based on how they act is wrong.

I have come to pay my respects a decade later. The world is a much more globalized and connected place. Technology has quadrupled in terms of power. The internet, just in 2009, was quite primitive in some aspects when compared with today.. In the next 10 years it's going to be much more different. However, even though it's been so many damned days, people still know about this guy enough to continue to acknowledge his existence.

He stands out from most suicide victims, for he wasn't ignored after his passing.

Continue to Rest In Piece.

It's been a long time, buddy. Even after ten years, I still tear up when I think of it. The 'grounds is going strong, still cool, still fun. I still check in from time to time. Yet, even after the facelift, the place still reminds me... It was never the same after you left. I miss you, my friend.

EvilDave is dead now too, another chapter in NG history.

May Dave have wild drug induced parties with @regret and @livecorpse forever.

Rest in Peace, you will all be immortalized.

Wow. I'm crying right now.

We are all prodigies. We just have to realize our potential, then make it our purpose.

Man, it's a damn shame he's gone. I bet me and him would've make the best of friends. I guess all he needed was someone to really listened to him. Anyways, RIP LiveCorpse, wherever you may be.

It's still so fucking surreal to me that this ever happened. It's just so sad how time moves on and things can be remembered less and less. I still remember LiveCorpse.
