ParagonX9 Fanbase Poll!

Hey all,

I made these two polls each composed of a single question. I thought it'd be interesting to see what the community thinks about whether "ParagonX9 should come back" and "If ParagonX9 will come back."

I got into that dusty corner of newgrounds that is ParagonX9's user page and can see there's alotta people there asking him/her to acknowledge the community. And as far as 2 years after PX9 when offline, there are still reviews posted to the content on a regular basis requesting a return.

I thought it's be interesting to be able to quantify some of the opinions going around. Newgrounds wouldn't let me put the script directly into the body, so I whipped up a quick blog on blogger.

Anyway, the gender of ParagonX9 was always a mystery to me. Was she a he or was he a she?

There are loads of rumors and little-no credible sources to the point where it seems nobody except personal friends/acquaintances seem to know ParagonX9's real gender. I've personally done a few hours of research (stalker?) on ParagonX9 and found no gender information, except some wiki page suggesting PX9 was male. I can't remember where that was, but I just kept things gender neutral in the poll to help keep people from pushing claims too much.

The problem with that is there's been no recent activity from any of these sites, the curious thing is that there seemed to be a full stop in everything that is ParagonX9 since some time in 2012. ParagonX9 didn't simply leave newgrounds, he left the internet. There's no sign of him anywhere as far as any of us are concerned, and from what I've learned about him, he doesn't seem life the type to go away for 2+ years without giving us a heads up or letting us know what's been going down lately. (That would be some downright diabolical trolling there!)
I've personally wondered if he ran into a financial crisis based on some of his news posts asking for donations and ended up god knows where. But truely there are limited clues supporting this.

But the universal question stands: What happened two years ago?
Thoughts? Anyone?

I don't imagine ParagonX9-- with such a massive fan base-- just make such an inconsiderate choice. With his/her time around here, he seemed fairly deticated when he was around, and when he wasn't active it was for a reason (correct me if I'm wrong) but every time he went idle for a considerable amount of time, an excuse or something came later when he returned. Like a broken computer or whatever.

It just seems inhuman to betray the thousands of fans in the way you are suggesting, and a choice like this doesn't quite match Paragon's persona in my opinion. Doesn't seem plausible at all.

It may be morally wrong to just leave but it may not be a choice. People get lives and in the end we all only did the stuff we did on NG for free. Maybe there will be an excuse or maybe they've gotten a job doing stuff professionally. We don't know for sure why they're not here anymore but it may be for a good reason. Whatever is keeping them off newgrounds has kept them off for long enough for the possibility of a normal return to be bleak. Plus, newgrounds is comparatively dead now compared to when ParagonX9 was at their height.

Speaking of NG users who mysteriously disappeared, where the hell is @Moosh? He was a prolific user in 2008 or so, and then one fine day he disappeared...and reappeared in 2012 explaining he'd been in uni or something, and then promptly fucked off to who knows where again.

Aww man, listening to Chaoz Airflow and listening to this is sad, just that ParagonX9 made very nice music, and was enthusiastic. I hope He/she comes back soon.

I believe ParagonX9 has simply moved on from the Newgrounds community.

When you have that much attention, the attention he/she received, it can definitely be overwhelming. I think as a defense mechanism they may have decided to move onward to bigger things while staying off the radar.

Newgrounds should act more like a spring board instead of fly paper anyway, so if that's what they did, I am happy in their decision. If they come back, that's fine but Paragon is just another musician in the big wide world of Newgrounds.

Which is actually... like the equivalent to a pixel on your computer screen or less when it comes to the FULL scope of the internet. Seriously... it's just NG.

I believed that he suicided over the "end" of the world on the 21st of December 2012. Mayans believed that the world would end on the 21st of December 2012, which is also the day he posted for the last time on his Facebook account. The day before on the 20th of December he posted a image that said "Dawn of the Final Day -24 Hours Remain-"
ParagonX9 hasn't posted anything or showed any activity on any of his pages past the 21st of December.

This is just a theory. I am open to feedback so reply if you need.

It seems like they haven't been here for at least two years. It's a shame, no doubt, they made some excellent music, but it happens to a lot of famous artists.

I'd kill for the return of @Sarkazm, @Stuart-Hart, @FuelKat, @Rob-D, @Tomorrows-Nobody, @Parks2, @The-Super-Flash-Bros, and @gene-goldstein, but sometimes the artists you love move on and don't return.
