About to start getting into drawing

I've been an extremely below average hand writer and drawer in general. Any tips on how to start off? Maybe some general methods of making my hands steadier and more precise? I'm pretty into making digital art, but I want to start doing some traditional designs as well.

This is by MEGA FAR the best thing i've drawn here

I only did that well because I followed a tutorial extremely closely a few moths ago. So that in no way indicates my drawing skill atm lol. I'm 17 btw.

I don't think it's bad you could always import it, and color it or leave it as it is.
I really like watching material made by artists on youtube, or checking out materials at deviant art.
Mostly I just keep on working with my ideas, since the idea is the work, after articulated.

What would be a good way to digitally color something like that? I have MyPaint, but I have no idea how to use it lol. I barely tried it out though and I normally use Inkscape for digital art. So I haven't really looked up tutorials or anything.

You wanna get better?
Practice drawing everyday. Create one decent picture a day; even if you don't upload it or decide it's better off in the trash.

Try drawing new things all the time.

Try printing out a picture from one of your favorite artists in a larger size if possible so you can study it.

Copy your favorite pictures without any tracing; this way you learn how your favorite artists draw so well by picking the pictures apart. Compare their style and yours with your copy.

Practice, Practice, Practice! The proof of the desire is in the pursuit. Talent is just an interest we put a lot of effort into.

What the guy above said. Get a sketchbook and pencils, draw in it everyday for at least 1-2 hours. Filling the first sketchbook completely with drawing could be your first short term goal.

Here's a famous page that every beginner should read through http://www.squidoo.com/how-to-draw-learn
