From what I can see we have two options. These are as follows:

Option 1 - Reconstruct the main section with the animations in and keep the project entirely swf based

bitmap big size no good!

We can always just keep the menu, then just embed the rest of it as video in the animation, right?

I already had that in mind but first I had to convert them to flv because Flash doesn't support all videos format plus there is a risk of lagging sounds. I tried importing mp4 last night, it asked me for conversion then I tried importing flvs and it told me that audio couldn't be imported because of codecs issues... I just said FUCK!

So now I have five options left:
- Attempting a new rebuild, plus I'll be sorting each part on its own then adding them one by one by one (lol Linkin Park) and keeping each output separate
- Splitting the collab into parts which have to be linked
- Making the parts which causing the most troubles as easter eggs and adding hints in the description so people would notice them and they have equal chances to be seen. These parts should be uploaded to different dump spaces and then linked to the collab <-- too much work but I have some coding experience
- Excluding some parts which causing the most troubles and having people submit them on their own, this is the worst step but we must be prepared to face it, and to make things legal we might organize a little Halloween game :)
- Having someone of high technical knowledge to deal with the problem but I can't guarantee this option as I have no one in mind

Don't worry either one of these options, I'll work hard in the free time I've got (from Saturday morning till Wednesday night) I'll even try to be faster than that, but I promise you nothing because I don't know if my PC could handle it all :)

What you think guys

You can still be in it.

Update:
I'm working on a version with an embedded video as the main section (whilst keeping the preloader, stories, menu and easter eggs)
and
Fat-Footy is working on fixing up an entirely swf based version

Good to hear! As for the example you linked to earlier, that looked like an external embed via YT. I hope the video will actually be contained within the file for this one? Otherwise preloading won't serve much purpose. :/

Oh, by the way, i used a song called Zombie Cavers, or something like that, wait let me search for the song.

I guess you need to give credit to him, or something. I did not had time so i could not ask him when making the animation if i could use it, too. Is it okay?

Is it too late to change the icon for my part? I looked at the preloader menu thing and saw mine was not like the rest.

Even if we end up doing something like that the preloader will still serve a purpose as shall be loading in the menu, credits, easter eggs and all their audio

I think it should be fine, I've added the song to the list of credited audio

Why not try something like this;

1. Convert each part into a separate movieclip
2. Place the first part on the timeline (let's say the whole part is 398 frames long inside of the movie clip)
3. make the movieclip stay on the frame for 398 frames
4. Make a new empty frame after the 1st part ends (note, on the main timeline, not inside the MC)
5. just fill it black and add a StopAllSounds() code to it
6. new frame, put next part here (same technique as the 1st one)
7. repeat

That should most likely solve it.

I second that motion. I'd be willing to do the work myself, if-

someone finally punches Newbie97 in the face and shuts them up

If this doesn't work, I don't know what will. It sounds simple enough and it just might work.

Yeah, that's what I suggested earlier, maybe I wasn't that clear about it though. It would be a simple matter of adding stop(); for each MC frame on the main timeline, and a _root.play(); at the end of the timelines within the MCs, along with a stopAllSounds(); to keep the sound from going on. And the controls could be included in a single layer. Simple.

Though this doesn't really differ much from the approach where you include each animation in a different scene, it might just solve the stop errors and audio sync issues, the file will still be difficult to handle due to its size...
