Confirming that you must have a perfect internet Connection to play single player games. Also, the fact that since the Economy is bad right now, that not even one has internet connection. I think that I heard that 40 percent of Americans still don't have internet or internet that isn't high-speed. I do not want to be renting games, I want to own a game if I pay 60 bucks for it. What are your thoughts about the new Xbox?

Say no to always online drm. They can find other ways to protect their games from Piracy. I don't even think console gaming is as bad as these companies are making it out to be on consoles, atleast on the 360 and ps3. Most people I know own the real console without any hacks to play pirated games on them.

I know what the article said, it said that they'll leave it up to the Game companies. But most Game Companies think this is a good thing, which means most games will have always online drm.

What if it's a game like Elder Scrolls? I think Bethesda's smart enough to have the always-online capability off for a game like that.

Halo 5 and 6 will be worth it.

Either way, I don't like where the new consoles are headed. We're in a time where we're running out of gimmicks. 4K hasn't made its way into the consumer market yet, motion controls have been implemented in all the major consoles, and everyone has to rely on an internet connection no matter what they do as of now, including old people who just watch television all day. The seventh generation was as far as we needed to go.

I'm not going to take sides until I hear Microsoft's thoughts and reasons.

It's hard to get excited for new Consoles.

Each one just seems like a slight upgrade from the last.

Remember how amazing it was when we went from the Super Nintendo to the Nintendo 64?

When will that kind of change happen again?

Yeah, when one of the first words in the TITLE of the article is RUMOR, the number of things that have been "confirmed" is fuck all. I seriously doubt flawless internet connections will be a requirement, that's fucking commercial suicide. Even leaving it up to game developers is way too risky. My suggestion? Wait. For. May 21st. Then make your decisions.

Nope ps4 it is and not just because of possible DRM.

If it gets a game in the Tales series I will buy it. If not then I won't buy it.

I sure hope they make use of some sort of high density disc format, because having a game span multiple DVDs is just ridiculous in this day and age.

Microsoft does have rights to the HD-DVD format, so maybe they should make use of it as a game disc medium.

I ain't too excited about the Xbox 720, I'll wait a good while after it comes out so I can hear some reviews or see some worthy titles on it released before I buy it

If these are true then sales for it will probably be crap until Halo 5 and 6 and hopefully Fable 4 (it better be good!) and Gow 4 (again be good!) come out.

This is one of the big reasons why I had major doubts about the 8th Generation Gaming Consoles, I even noticed a number of people way beforehand before this thread was ever made that they expressed on not buying the upcoming Xbox System.

People of Microsoft should of known better then to do this not to mention the fact of the joint effort they made with Electronic Arts (or should I say Evil Arts) which explains one of the reasons why the Next Generation Xbox System will require online connection just so you can play the games, this is one of the worst ideas I ever seen for any video gaming console period.

Sony already confirmed that their System will not have any DRM Always online for Single Player. Sony is smart, unlike Micro#$ck who rather lose Customers.

Halo 5 and 6, and the dozens of spinoffs that will come out in between. Maybe. If it's always online, I'll just forget about the new generation. Third through seventh generations are in my heart forever.

It's good that developers can choose. I still dont like the idea but hopefully all the smart ones wont utilize always online. I assume the game boxes will have warnings that the game has DRM. They need to give people a heads up.

This is all speculation AGAIN, read the article completely. The only thing that was confirmed is the date of the pre-conference. Then it goes on to talk about the rumours.

I felt the same way about PS3 and Wii.. and was proven wrong by how awesome those consoles were.

I expect the XBOX 720 to have very few exclusives worth the purchase and will probably not end up buying it.

PS4 is probably a must buy. And I already have a Wii U, but I'm pretty pissed about the lack of real titles for it.
